2022 Offseason Thread
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
We are 4-3 against Dallas at home.
1-10 on the road.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
It would be nice to have a 5 plus yard per carry against Dallas.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
The media got their red meat and now they're sinking their teeth into it. Now SI is saying Lance was annoyed by the decision to bring Jimmy G back.
Ultimately it'll boil down to how well the Niners play and specifically whether Lance holds them back the way Jimmy G did.
What's not being talked about though is the fact that Jimmy G is largely unwanted. He had zero market for his services. Niners didn't even want him. His only option was to take a nearly 80% pay cut from his original salary to remain on the same team that acquired his replacement in his face. If he doesn't play in 2022, what reason do teams have to offer him a contract in 2023?

Kids actually got some experience in the league. Nice grab for a practice squader.

The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a deal with veteran offensive tackle Jason Peters to join their practice squad, coach Mike McCarthy confirmed Monday.

Kind of annoying that we play the Rams for the 4th year in a row and open against the Cowboys 2x in a row.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Bills are the SB favorite. Bucs aren’t far behind in 2nd place. Per Caesar’s.

Your love for Ryan Tannehill is getting out of control.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 8:25 amThe Bills are the media darlings this year. They are so ready to crown Josh Allen as the best QB in the game when he's not even the best in the AFC.

Wrong.
Brady's cap charge in 2023 is currently scheduled to be 8 M (that's from the prorated signing bonuses we already paid him).
If he isn't on the roster when the new league year starts, his contract voids and all remaining prorated money (8M in 2023, 2024 and 2025) gets accelerated against the 2023 cap (24 M + the 9 M we just pushed to 2023 equals the 33 M)
If he signs a new contract before the new league year starts, the prorated money that's currently prorated to 2024 and 2025 stays there and doesn't get accelerated against the 2023 cap.
So his 2023 hit would be:.
- 8 M (old prorated money - can't be manipulated)
- 3 M (prorated money from todays restructure, other 6 M goes to 2024 and 2025, assuming no additional void years have been added)
- 2023 base salary (probably vet minimum)
- 2023 signing bonus/contract years (including void years)
And that would likely end up im the 12-20 million range.
I don't know how you made this up in your head but you're wrong. You can't even prove what you're saying. So the only thing I can do is wait until next league year where you'll be proven wrong yet again.

Wasn't it reported the other way around a few years back? That Kyle veto'd Brady? Lynch was the one that went calling the Pats for Jimmy G and when BB told him he wasn't moving Jimmy, Lynch then asked about Brady. Brady went to Kraft, they moved Jimmy. Clearly Lynch was ready to go in on Brady at some point. Whoever nixed signing Brady in SF has a ton of egg on their face.
