Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers Official Game Day Thread: Righting the Ship Edition
Re: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers Official Game Day Thread: Righting the Ship Edition
Serious question. If our defensive PPG does not change all season long from here on out, would you be happy that our D averaged 18 PPG allowed? Don't take in to consideration what the offense puts up, just think about the 18 PPG.

Why aren't Bowles and Leftwich fired yet

An amoeba would do a better job coaching this team

Who cares what PFF says? Don't you know they're shit because they don't suck off Devin White?

You realize Evans has literally zero separation? This play only works because of an insane tight window throw and an insane contested catch.King Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 3:51 pmJust like I thought. Blowing smoke out your ass game after game and don't know what the hell you're talking about.
And yet here you are talking about the play call. The fact that our offense is basically relying on Brady hitting those types of throws is the reason we aren't moving the ball.

It's a simple question: What was the playcall? You seem to always bitch about the playcalls. That would mean you actually know what the playcalls are yet you can't even name one. If you don't know, a simple "I don't know" would suffice.Max wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 4:08 pmYou realize Evans has literally zero separation? Separation doesn't matter. Gage has a ton of separation, hasn't done jack. Look at other receivers around the league compared to ours.Max wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 4:08 pmYou realize Evans has literally zero separation? Of course this run went to the right, and we can tell just based on the formation.
Godwin is in a tight split to that side, and Kieft is right there with him. Whenever those guys are on the same side, or indeed whenever Godwin is in tight like that regardless of other personnel around him, that's what we tend to do. That formation is a huge tell to the defense. And Kieft on his own is another huge tell, as he is rarely the only tight end on the field unless we are running it.
Most people on this board could pick that out of they thought about it. And if I can tell just by looking, then I'll bet the Panthers sure as shit can as well. As can most teams and scouting departments in the league. Shit like this would be on the big screen in the defensive meeting room during the week, emphasized again and again. Godwin's in tight, especially with a run-blocking tight end, crash the run first.
This is a big reason why our run game sucks. We tip our hand like this all the time just with our presnap formations and personnel.
It would be good if we ran away from those personnel to the right, flipping the run to the left where the numbers are even. It'd be great if Kieft pulled across the formation on a counter, so at least the direction of the run would be a surprise even if the call isn't, maybe throw in a pull by Shaq Mason for flavor. It would be even better if we went hard play action off these looks to break tendency. But alas, we are what Leftwich makes us.
