Karma sometime takes some time

Post by 13F11B »

PJ Williams is out injured in the Saints v. Panthers game.

Ah, Karma took a while but it caught up to him.

What a terrible post. Be better than this.

This what the worst type of fans look like. Just like the Saints fans celebrating Godwin's injury because if Winston's.

Woah. I did not wish for it. I did not celebrate it. I just observed that he was knocked out of the game and that Karma always seems to catch up to people. You read an awful lot into the post that was not there.

You assigned Karma. It's a made up thing from fans. You think it would also be karma for White to tear his ACL? Probably not.

It's an immature perspective.

It's absolutely assigned by emotional people. There's no tangible evidence of Karma.

I'm sure you have faith that Karma is real, just as Santa delivered your presents.

I see.
  1. (in Hinduism and Buddhism) the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.
  2. informal : the force created by a person's actions that some people believe causes good or bad things to happen to that person
I don't think fans made it up.

"BELIEVE" is the key word. Again, you likely wouldn't consider it Karma if White tore his ACL.

Karma is not based on ONE action but the sum of a person's actions. So that answer could vary without lending any weight to your assertion. Stick to football you suck at religion and philosophy.

Not really. I made an observation while I was watching the game. That was all I intended. If other people want to read more into things so be it.

But karma isn’t some observable/empirical thing like the weather where you can point to the clouds and say “there’s a nimbus.” By saying “karma intervened on Player X” following a bad thing happening to player X, you’re making an unprompted subjective claim that player X was in line for cosmic intervention because of what you perceive to be Player X’s previous transgressions.

Aka you think he deserved it. Which is fine. I don’t give a shit.

Karma impacts your next life not the one that you are currently in. What you are talking about is more of a "what comes around goes around" type of situation.

American society has taken principle from a foreign religion and warped the meaning of it. As you stated, karma is the actions in your previous and present life deciding the fate of your future life.

Given what Karma actually means, 1 of 3 things can only be true here.
1. 137177ehdu practices Hinduism or Buddism.

2. 137177 doesn't know what the hell he's talking about and is making an ass out of himself yet again.

3. 137177 is going to go with "it's just a joke. geesh.

We can pretty much eliminate #1. A practicing Buddist or Hindu would know very well what the concept of Karma means and how it applies to one's life.

#3 can also be eliminated. He's seemed to dig in deep here and double down even when told what Karma really is.

Which means #2 is the conclusion. To no one's surprise.

You are wrong.

1. I was using Karma in the way western culture uses the word.

2. What I said earlier with regards to Karma from a philosophical standpoint is to my knowledge accurate. "Karma is not based on ONE action but the sum of a person's actions." At least that is what my Buddhist friends have told me. From a philosophical point of view, there are actually three versions of Karma. Jainism is the oldest, Buddhism is the second oldest, and Hinduism is the youngest. I know you would not accept my words or experience as fact so I searched the Internet for the explanation that I have been given multiple times when discussing Karma.
Karma means action: your action, your responsibility. It is not some external system of crime and punishment, but an internal cycle generated by you. Accumulation of karma is determined only by your intention and the way you respond to anything and everything that happens to you.
link

However, I was not using the term philosophically. I would not have expected the board to understand that use. I was using it in the common western meaning that what comes around goes around.

Don't matter to me, but here's google for you.

Karma, a Sanskrit word that roughly translates to "action," is a core concept in some Eastern religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism. ... With karma, like causes produce like effects; that is, a good deed will lead to a future beneficial effect, while a bad deed will lead to a future harmful effect.
