Strange goings-on...
Strange goings-on...
The last few weeks or so have been great for the Bucs. Teams that we have needed to lose, have lost.
AZ loses a couple.
Rams lose a couple
Cowboys lose a couple
Packers lose a couple
Hell, The Saints are in a 4 game slide... In fact, the rest of the division is dropping like flies.
It just seems strange. In years past, when we needed help getting into the playoffs, help was rare. The whole NFC ran right over us. Now, we're talking like "if we lose to the Colts/Bills, it ain't no big deal".
We just gotta keep doing our business, and the rest of the league can watch us, for once.

Re: Strange goings-on...
You forgot the most important factor in this reality of yours. The Bucs have also lost a couple. 1-2 in our last 3 games. Same as all of those other teams. This time last month we were 2nd in the NFC. Now we're 3rd.
I don't see how we're in anymore favorable of a position as the other teams you've named. Losing 2 of 3 isn't taking care of business. We need to rack up wins.

That's kinda my point, Bootz... We lost a couple, but ended up not losing any ground in the playoff seedings. We gained within the division. In years past, that wasn't happening.King Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 9:44 am You forgot the most important factor in this reality of yours. I don't think "my reality" is a whole lot different from yours.

We did lose ground in playoff seeding. Again, we were 2nd this time last month. Actually dropped to 4th at 1 point and are now back up to 3rd. Even if we win this week we will remain 3rd because of conference losses.q

The point is that if the other teams (Saints, Packers, Cardinals, Dallas, Rams) were winning while we dropped 2/3 home field advantage would be just about out of reach. Each of those teams have slid 1-2 games as well.
We've been fortunate in that regard.

Nope. Not 1 person said that except you.
Re: Strange goings-on...
In boards past, every year I would do a playoff-push thread... Who to root for, who to root against. In the past, things would rarely go our way. THIS YEAR, (the last few weeks anyway,) it seems like the conference leaders have all fallen flat. Yeah, we lost a couple, as well, but haven't suffered any great damage as a result. Unlike in years past, when we needed certain teams to lose, to even be able to "back-in" the playoffs. In years past, a loss any given week, last in the season always seemed to just kill us.
Now, if AZ, Dallas, NO, GB, and the Rams all won the games that they should have, we'd be talking about seeds 5,6, or 7.
As it is, if we win against Indy, we get what, a three-game lead in the division? When has that ever happened for us?

I think he's talking more overall getting to the playoffs and our position in the division. In years past, remember we went 10-6 and 9-7 and didn't make it. Meanwhile this year, we could probably get in with those records. In the division, we're 7-3 and 2(potentially 3 after Sunday) games up on everyone else. In years past, we're multiple games out of first with that record.King Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 9:51 am We did lose ground in playoff seeding. Again, we were 2nd this time last month. Lol Bootz has a problem for every solution

I said what I said
I didn’t pledge allegiance to the flag at 7am for 18 years, for liberty and justice for all, just to be called radical for wanting liberty and justice for all.

If we win and GB loses, we move up to #2. Just win baby!King Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 9:51 am We did lose ground in playoff seeding. Again, we were 2nd this time last month. It was a six-way tie, which gives the Bucs the advantage because we have swords. Try to keep up.
