Ichabod's Monday Analysis: Week 5

Post by IchabodCrane84 »

This game was needed. It was against a team we should’ve dominated, and we did just that. Just when we thought the defense was getting a bit shaky we decided to pull out our secret weapon with seven minutes to go. Blaine Gabbart. The Dolphins thought they’d get the ball back and rack up some garbage points, but Gabbart was like no! I’ve got Tyler Johnson on the other end of these ropes!

Likes:
1.) Off the injured list and on the Dean’s List!
2.) The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are awesome on their own. They don’t need Casey Jones, but when he’s there you love it. That’s how I feel about Gio Benard.
3.) It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a quarterback have to ice their arm because they were on fire.
4.) I’m pretty sure Tom Brady told the offense to jump offsides two plays in a row to run up his passing stats.
5.) If Fournette continues to improve in the passing game he may lose the Playoff Lenny nickname and become Leonard Safetynette.
6.) I thought I was watching Captain America in the Avengers on Antonio Brown’s first touchdown catch. I saw everyone running at full speed, but Brown just blew by them all.
7.) Vita Vea does more than clean plates. He cleans up sacks.

Dislikes:
1.) When are we going to start covering the running back? You put JPP on him and you reduce his openness by 50%. Doesn’t help, but at least you can say you tried.
2.) The pass rush was a bit frustrating yesterday. It was like trying to watch Cinemax on a Friday night as a kid even though your parents didn’t pay for the movie channels. Every time we were close to seeing a boob it’d get scrambled away, and even though we’d get home a few times, it never felt worth it.

Random:
1.) A penalty for being outside the center zone? Where the fuck is the center zone? Near the sidelines?
2.) If you let the ball go through your hands Mike, you always run the risk of letting the ball hit you in the balls.
3.) I don’t know if it’s the CBS broadcast team or just the #1 broadcast team in general that doesn’t know the pirate ship’s cannon firing rules, but either way it got me Bucsplaining to Nantz and Romo through my TV.
4.) Survivor, William Petersen, and Tom Brady. What are three things on CBS in 2000 and 2021?

I don’t know if I should be mad at our defense for always letting a hobbled quarterback escape pressure, or be impressed with Jacoby Brissett’s grit. I’ll make that decision later because it’s time to prepare for the Eagles. It’s a short week, we have another injury to worry about, but we get through that and we have 10 days to rest up.

Credit Brissett, Ichy. He is worthy of the respect.

Here's hoping Tom's thumb is ok.

You never opened up the box and looked inside to see how they scrambled the channels? It was just a tuning dial.

Top notch Likes list this week @IchabodCrane84. Nice Casey Jones reference. I would amend Brown’s run to reminiscent of Black Panther in that same scene you’re talking about. Well done, good sir!

Playboy channel was the hardest one to unscramble, but HBO was a cinch. I remember when Traci Lord was a regular host(?) on Electric Blue.
