Forfeit game?
I heard it was only one player and the rest were coaches and FO types
Yup, 6 coaches + 1 nutritionist were 7 of the 8.
All 7 of them were fully vaccinated since all team personnel are required to be vaccinated in order to interact with the players (do their job).
Now those fully vaxxed coaches need to quarantine so they don't infect other fully vaxxed people.
As for the any remaining unvaccinated players in the NFL or in society, this is all your fault. Now go get vaccinated!!
Thursday night (Giants vs WFT) will probably be terrible. But it’s still early enough in the year, I’ll probably tune in to the entire game. Football is back baby.

Well folks
Urban Meyer says there's "no chance' he'd leave Jacksonville Jaguars for USC Trojans job
I remember when Saban said the same about Bama while HC in Miami.
But this Urban Meyer-USC thing is just clickbait. A juicy narrative that we can rationalize due to the people involved and past precedence, but still 100% speculation.
It wasn't a great start for the Jags, but Meyer has a talented young QB and alot of time to get things figured out in Jacksonville.

So let's pretend for a moment that Richard Sherman didn't have all that off the field drama and he was healthy and in great shape.
Would he function at all in our defense? Isn't he known for being a zone guy? And we seem to be shifting more and more towards zone.
Probably doesn't matter since he did have that crazy shit happen and likely isn't in football shape, but just in theory.
If SMB is truly leaning towards being out for the year, we have to make a move at corner, right?
Not really a good fit. Sherman is a good bail CB but he's exclusively a boundary guy. So are CD3 and Dean. We need someone who can function inside well. That's not Richard Sherman.
I do not see any street signing coming in and help much, besides as depth.
Said this elsewhere, but Davis is a beast. Dean is not a beast, but he's far from the worst #2 corner you could ask for. All Cockrell does is whatever we need him to do. Delaney had a great camp. Miller - and I admit, this is based on little, seems to have a nugget of promise.
I just don't see a corner who wasn't good enough to make a 53 coming in and helping much.
That said, once you open up to the possibility of trades, that changes the math a bit.

If we lose to the team that lost to the eagles as badly as they did… i’ll be very upset.
The team will lose some games this year, it would definitely be a shame if Atl were among them. Although, no one loss is indicative of a teams overall quality. So, if it were Atl? indifference

Zero need to trade cap space or draft capital for a fringe talent or even a mid level signing at week fucking two of the campaign.
Ya'll cray cray.
I wouldn't overpay for somebody who'd struggle to crack our top three. I would keep an open mind about dealing for someone who could crack our current Top Two.
I'm not a Dean hater, but he is what he is. He's a better athlete than cornerback. And while I don't see the Dallas debacle repeating itself often, for a lot of reasons, I wouldn't blame OBP for trying to upgrade there.

With the return of Whitehead, AWJr can reprise his role as the fill Nickle, relieving a lot of the stress points we had to endure in the Dallas game. Love me some Dean when he's in press, jam, bump and run, etc etc. It's all different nomenclature for what he does best, which is disrupt at the line and match routes in stride.
Asking him to do the same thing five to seven yards off aint right - he's not fluid enough and can't match a top flight receiver's breaks out of the backpeddle.

Herb Miller next man up.
On the rare occasions I've seen Herb Miller play football, I've liked him. He has good size and he's a converted safety, so he's likely a sound tackler. Not sure if he has ideal deep speed (4.57 timed 40) but if he was 6'2 with 4.3 speed, he's not on a practice squad.

Per Overthecap we have $36 grand in cap space at the moment, barely enough to afford a new Toyota Sienna.
Unless moves are made, we aren't signing Richard Sherman or anybody else at cornerback.
They didn't update after Evans's restructure. As I recall, it's about $6 mil now.
Probably not enough to figure out a primo contract, but enough to add somebody on his rookie deal, or maybe a guy on a mid-tier contract playing well.
Spotrac did update. It's around $577k now. His restructuring helped account for dead money, bonuses, etc. It also increased his cap numbers for the last 2 years of his deal and added an additional 2 voidable years.
We aren't adding anyone significant no matter the circumstances.

Given that info, it would have to be a straight-up trade with similar cap hits or the new guy would have to be willing to renegotiate his contract upon arrival to get his numbers in line with the cap we traded for him.
So, as you said, we aren't adding anyone significant.
