Myles Garrett
Re: Myles Garrett
The Browns are basically screwed with contracts on both Watson and Garnett, where will they get remaining money to sign good players?
What say you?@Zarni

Re: Myles Garrett
They restructured Watson again and the new contract with Garrett opens up some short term space,
I will say he played the organization like a fiddle these past couple months

Age 30+ seasons. Yikes. Thats just a desperation please don’t leave us contract.

Yep, and at the end of the day, people only hold it against QBs when they aren’t champions.
Joe Thomas is a HOFer and never played in a single playoff game. And no one really cares. I’m sure he does. Until he wakes up on a pile of money, and has sex with 10s while his wife cools him with a giant palm frond.

Re: Myles Garrett
And ultimately when they try to trade him in 3 or 4 years, they won't be able to because of the deal. They no doubt will keep restructuring this deal year after year just to try and stay afloat.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 2:39 pm Age 30+ seasons. Yikes. I get the frustration...I'm sure he was sold a pack of lies .... he was silly for believing it though.
Browns wasted one of the best OL ever (Thomas), one of the best DL ever (Garrett) -- both 10 all time at their positions -- and a stud (not quite HOF) DB (ward)

What lies could they have sold him exactly?Zarni wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 10:05 am I get the frustration...I'm sure he was sold a pack of lies .... he was silly for believing it though.

Re: Myles Garrett
Absolutely none. I just feel like they had all the leverage in the world and would've happily let him sit at home collecting dust just so he wouldn't be wrecking havoc for another team.
Myles did this to himself. He could've just played 25', played 26' then forced them to tag him at a ridiculous rate.
Instead he took the money and is now under contract until he's 35.
I will ALWAYS implore players to follow suit of what these organizations do and do what's best for you. This blind, fake loyalty teams do not share in that once your value is no longer useful to them. And they'll keep you hostage for as long as they can.
I don't feel bad for him. He's been with this team for 8+ years. He knows who he plays for.

						Re: Myles Garrett
Let's not kid ourselves, if he wants out of Cleveland (at some point), he'll get dealt. Think of a time a star in any sport wanted out of their current situation and then think how many of those guys are still on that team they wanted off.
Player's have all of the leverage.

Re: Myles Garrett
Myles chased money instead of a winning organization. He's made his bed; I hope he sleeps in it peacefully.

Re: Myles Garrett
have always been a big fan of Myles, but in the end, he chose the $$$ even knowing full well that CLE was a bad organization ad that he was playing with a bad team with no viable QB. He could've forced his way out and ended up playing for a better team, possibly for less $$, but he'd have been playing for a better team. He made his choice and now he'll never play for a contender. Is what it is.

Re: Myles Garrett
I hope Cleveland never wins while he's there.
He chose greed over legacy, so he gets what he deserves.

Re: Myles Garrett
Cleveland seemed pretty dug in. They said they would not trade him. Could have just given him an ultimatum.
You can be the highest paid defensive player in the league or you can rot. Up to you.

Re: Myles Garrett
@Zarni wasnt Haslem from the Steelers organization? Used to be a minority owner? Talk about another (now currently) toxic organization and how they run things.
They were lucky they had Dan Rooney for as long as they did, but Haslem must have went to the same school as Art II, Except he seems worse than Art II.
Edit: Who is taking over for the Browns if Jim passes?

I have no idea who would come after him.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Thu Oct 30, 2025 3:36 pm @Zarni wasnt Haslem from the Steelers organization? Used to be a minority owner? Talk about another (now currently) toxic organization and how they run things.

Hopefully we find out soon!!!
We have had some really bad owners in Cleveland. And he takes the cake by a large margin … at least since Modell

Re: Myles Garrett
The rumors I've seen is that the Patriots are clearing cap space to make a move for him. Whether Cleveland bites is another story...but they should if they can get a godfather deal. Cleveland should sell everything, they aren't competing until they figure out QB and get Watson off the books.

Re: Myles Garrett
Hopefully nobody trades for him. He shouldn't be rewarded for choosing greed over legacy. He had his chance, now he's gotta eat it.
He'll go down as a great player who had an irrelevant impact on the game. But hey, i guess he can get even more cars and tacky looking jewelry now??

Re: Myles Garrett
If they trade Garrett and release Watson, they're going to incur about $150M in dead cap money for 2026. I don't see both happening. It's only one of the two. Personally, I'd keep Garrett and dump Watson.Zarni wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 1:58 pmAgreed.
