Wanna hear a major reason we need Bucky Irving back ASAP?

Bucky has missed 4 games. And he still leads the team in yards after the catch. By a full 50 yards.

We're 3-1 without him, that's the most important stat. We're actually averaging more PPG without him than with him. We're doing fine. I'm not saying we should not want him back, but to nitpick a YAC stat without context isn't necessary.

Bucky, Luke, Evans, and Chris change the tone of this offense.

Especially Bucky and Luke at this stage. Bucky for his ability to create after contact and the catch. Luke helps solidifies that right side.

At this point we don't know what Godwin has left. The 2 games he did play he did not look good and that injury has been known to end careers. Evans, let's see how long those injuries keep him out.

But as the numbers show, Bucky is dangerous in the open field and can rack up yards better than anyone on this team. No one brings that dynamic to the offense. We desperately need him back.

White has 6 10+ yard runs - Bucky has 4.
White has 22 first downs on 77 carries.
Bucky has 7 on 71 carries.
Our 2 20+ runs came from Baker.

My guess the problem is blocking.

I also think we will shorten Bucky's career using him as a bell cow, about 18 carries a game put him down in 4 games. Our offense has to put up more names to hurt a defense or we are going to have problems.

As well, teams have to scheme for him which opens up other options for us.

Why do we eliminate Payne Durham from catching passes and how far off is he a blocker compared to Kieft?

Payne has blocked well and is being kept in to help our turnstile RT.

I’d like to see more heavy sets with two TEs and/or an extra offensive linemen. More play action from under center. Some creative runs. Short easy passes off those.

I feel like we’ve looked really predictable the last two weeks out of shotgun and 11 personnel. It hasn’t been very effective.

We are probably the only team who only has 1 TE with a pass completion. It makes no sense.

Jalen McMillan actually broke his neck, not just severely strained it as the Bucs stated.

Bowles confirmed it today on the Ira Kaufman podcast today.
“It’s just a matter of the bones healing the right way,” Bowles said of McMillan’s slow recovery. “And those are such difficult bones to judge inside the neck, and I’m not in the medical profession, but he’s coming along. I think he’s in good spirits. And I think he’s getting a lot better, I just don’t know how close.”

The head coach explained McMillan is recovering for life as well as football.

“He’s still in a brace but he’s getting better,” Bowles said. “He’s getting better. But necks are not like ankles or arms, where you see progress — where you can lift on them and work them out while you’re still in a brace. And you can say, ‘Oh, he looks good today. He’s getting stronger. He’s getting faster.’ It’s a neck injury. And those, like you said, it’s a life thing if it doesn’t heal the right way. So [team doctors] are saying it’s healing the right way. They’re saying he’s coming along. He’s feeling better. He’s all similes. I don’t know what that means, honestly. Because again, until he puts on a helmet and starts working out and everything else, you just don’t know.”

I have rarely come across any person that doesn't use the fallacy of incomplete information while arguing sports. A lot of sports arguments do not have a perfect objective answer. That requires argumentation to come down to Cherry Picking the best stats that fit. Every single sports fan does this if they are arguing about who the better player is between player x and player y. Your comment is full of cherry picked stats. "Averaging more ppg w/o him. 3-1 w/o him." You didn't add any context. Look in the mirror sometimes.

Apparently Jalen McMillan broke bones in his neck. Am I crazy or is this the first we have heard of a broken neck?

It's not from JBF. It's from Bowles. I had posted his comments from Kaufman's podcast earlier today.

There's a reality where in 2026, Evans retires, JMac never plays again, and Godwin is washed post surgery.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

The New Union will correct that mistake.

100%.

I had hoped for a lingering Evans/Godwin transition but it looks like the Emeka Tez future is now. JMac just tragic.
