So while we are gutted on defense - players have stepped up. Jamel Dean has 3 (Jamel Dean!) you know the guy so many were bagging on last year and the beginning of this year.
It was just a few games ago that I said that someone needs to teach our defense that they can actually have takeaways.
And now all of a sudden these last few games, our whole defense has seemed to make a decision that takeaways are actually possible! What has me most excited is that these sort of things seem to motivate the entire defense to come up with turnovers.
Going forward, I think we are going to see these takeaways woven into the culture of our defense much like the era of Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks.
As of October 27, 2025, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense has recovered a total of 9 turnovers this season. This is composed of:
7 interceptions
2 fumble recoveries

We had just 18 in 17 games last season.
Already have 12 in just 8 games, which is 3rd most in the league.
We are doing a much better job creating turnovers and getting those bounces to go our way this season.

3rd in the league for sacks all of a sudden too! Last play of the Saints game Watts and Hall got a half sack, not sure if we got credit for the fumble as everyone just let the ball sit there.
