Ok, so I have to deal with Licht's decisions? That's what you're telling me? Fine.
Mayfield is great right? He's top 5? What team wouldn't give up at least a first round pick for him? Give me a list of teams would trade for him.
Sure, trade him. Assume you can get the #1 overall pick. Who are you taking? Why do I need to walk you through every step of this? You seem to have no conviction at all

My point is that if I were in charge back when he was signed, I would've done things differently and never been in the situation where I'm locked in to this situation.uscbucsfan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:27 pmWhat a dumb starting point for an argument. Also, tell me why Mayfield wouldn't take the highest guaranteed contract in the NFL.
The fact is Baker, through 6 weeks, is one of, if not the best QB in the entire NFL and he's doing it with a bunch of backups.
He threw 42 TDs last year taking us the the playoffs and he's better this year.
If you are still questioning him, it's an issue with you. It makes you look dumb. It's like people saying Mahomes, Lamar, or Allen aren't good QBs...there's too much evidence to the contrary.
So, you're comparing him to Mahomes, Lamar, and Allen? Mayfield is elite? Well, then if I were to trade Mayfield, I'd be able to get how many first round/total picks? We talking two firsts and two seconds? He's elite right?
Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
It’d be very easy to just say your initial analysis when we got Baker was wrong and he is obviously playing QB at a very high level.CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:31 pmWe'll have to see what comes of the NCAA season.Backside wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:27 pm

Everyone had to do it as some point, zero people thought he’d be this. But changing opinions based on evidence is a positive trait to have. Your stubbornness while amusing is also kind of sad, it’s much more fun on this side.

Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
Not sure what you're talking about. I initially said that he was a backup. I now say he's an average starter on par with about 20 of his peers. Isn't that admitting my initial stance was wrong? I do think our team makes him better than what he makes the team. I don't think anyone is great... be it in the front office, coaching or players (as a whole), but I think they all work well together. I said I think the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. It's why I said I don't have a problem giving Mayfield a 10 year deal, fully guaranteed. Let's keep the whole thing going. Because I don't think we're great at any level, we'll need an element of luck to win a championship. So let's see how long it lasts. When you pay a guy $60M, you're going to hurt the team as a whole and "the sum of the whole" is less likely to be better than the sum of the parts.Backside wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:35 pmIt’d be very easy to just say your initial analysis when we got Baker was wrong and he is obviously playing QB at a very high level.

I do think Wirfs and Vea are elite (just so no one gets their panties in a bunch when I said the players weren't great - I did say "as a whole").
Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
I guess that explains why you never grace up with any actual tape breakdown. Much easier to just say Tez and Kameron Johnson are the ones elevating Baker instead of the other way around if you never have to acknowledge the elite game winning plays he makes every week. You say this without even mentioning the cast of characters he is actually working with right now, how can anyone take you seriously?CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:50 pmNot sure what you're talking about. Would love to see you breakdown his throws in Seattle last week, his scramble yesterday, and about a dozen other plays he has made to win us games this year. I want to hear your thoughts on why it’s actually Charlie Heck who makes it all possible.

What we got with Baker is better than any young QB in the NFL including Stroud, Daniels, Ward, etc.CannonFire wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:34 pmMy point is that if I were in charge back when he was signed, I would've done things differently and never been in the situation where I'm locked in to this situation.uscbucsfan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 2:27 pm

You're just being stubborn. Baker is the best QB in the NFL right now and you're talking about regretting being in this situation....The 5-1 situation? You want to trade him, for what? A shot a JJ McCarthy, Cam Ward, Bryce Young? It's just an all-time dumb take.
You don't like Baker and nothing will change your mind...It's fine, you have an extreme bias.

Will Miami HC Mike McDaniel last the whole season, or will he be fired in the next few weeks?
Will Jon Gruden be the HC of Miami next season?

And Cam Ward can join the club of QBs drafted number one overall whose head coaches were fired in the same year. The list includes Trevor Lawrence, Bryce Young and Caleb Williams.

McDaniels should have been gone before this season. No way he keeps his job all season.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:36 pm Will Miami HC Mike McDaniel last the whole season, or will he be fired in the next few weeks?

Either he gets the axe after losing to a bad Ravens team or he gets the axe after they lose the international game.

At some point, Grier needs to be held accountable for all the shitty picks and trades and be given his walking papers as well.acmillis wrote: ↑Mon Oct 13, 2025 3:59 pmMcDaniels should have been gone before this season. Bills defense is trash.

Amazing still to me just how easily Josh throws 45+ yd passes like that.
Hell of a catch as well.

Milano, among others, still out. Even when they get Milano back, he's not going to fix their DL or secondary issues. BUF is going to be a lot of shootouts this year.

Good challenge by Raheem Morris. That's not a catch. With it being that obvious I'm surprised replay assist didn't intervene.

Atlanta's offense runs exclusively out of the pistol. That's gonna hinder Penix' development.

Might. BUF D is terrible right now with all the injuries. But even healthy they weren't going to be great at stopping the run. Simply don't have the horses.

There are so many great RBs in the league today. Barkley, Robinson, Gibbs, Henry, Achane, Etienne, Cook. I'm glad those days are gone where teams tried moving to RRBC.

Why does Josh keep throwing at AJ Terrell?

Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
Dunno. He does stuff like that at times. Sort of gets blinders on. No idea why.
Okay, that's not exactly true. i think he likes the matchup, for wahtever reason. And Josh has a habit of opting for matchups vs. schematic wins since early in his career.
Re: *OFFICIAL* NFL 2025 season Thread (teams other than our Bucs)
Falcons have Josh panicked. Good job disguising coverages.
