Tankathon: 2025-26 edition

Post by Snake »

Tennessee just finished off the improbable win against Arizona after being down big. The bottom of the league looks really bad right now.

And to beat a favorite drum of mine, I don’t think it’s a coincidence, that the two worst teams are owned by arguably the two worst owners.

Along these lines, a lot of talk has been said about us picking up an elite edge rusher. How about we trade for a competent ILB? Any hidden gems from this group we could poach?

There is actually: Devin White.

He knows the defense. He can make the plays Bowles is trying to get Dennis to make. May not be 2020-2021 Devin White. But he won't embarrass himself like Dennis or LVD have.

Is it possible for us to afford Myles Garrett? A 1st, a 3rd, and Braswell. Think that is enough to get him?

If there's a team that loses to the Jets this season, everyone should be fired immediately.

It was nearly this team.

Which one of these loser teams will hire Jon Gruden to be their HC next season?
Miami?

Any team willing to hire him as a HC now is a certified bad team.

If men like Marv Levy and Chuck Knox can coach in the NFL into their 80s or 90s, I think an adaptive evolved Gruden can do the same.

The orbit of Gruden’s ego will not allow him to adapt, evolve, or change.

I just can’t see any serious organization hiring him.

I like Gruden. I don’t agree. He’s become caricature of himself. He had his time. The time is over. In my opinion, the NFL offices did him dirty and I’m glad he dragged them into legal problems. Doesn’t mean he should coach.

As a fan, I would find it troubling if my team hired him. He’s repeatedly shown he can’t handle personalities and chain of command. At my age, I think I’ve encountered about every type of person there is. And the Gruden’s of the world double down on their flaws, instead of pivoting.

Its a fair point. If i was in position as an owner or GM I myself probably wouldn't hire him for the same reasons.

As a fan though I would love to see him get one more chance and to prove us wrong.
