As I recall, Mark Dominick was the team captain hunter. For all the good it did him.Terry Tate wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 9:05 pm E2 is a fine example of the Licht focus on character in the draft. Remember when he talked about how he targets team captains?
We have so many talented WRs and not a diva in the room. That still staggers he when I think about it. Every time I see E2 talking, he always comes across as the kind of guy you'd want you daughter to marry.

WRONG.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 8:18 pmYou’re the hater, pal. You trash anyone who doesn’t perform immediately. Now this guy does and you’re all “pump the breaks.”
Egbuka has been great. The “comp” was his football intelligence and demeanor.
Nobody said “OMG THIS GUY IS LARRY FITZGERALD!”
I said let's hold on comparing him to one of the greatest WRs ever. Egbuka is doing amazing. But it gets ridiculous sometimes. Just like people here comparing Trey Palmer to Randy Moss. Like really?
Let these young players forget their own path and see if they have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of hall of famers. 3 games aint enough.

Agreed.
Also, no (good) reason to be puffing them up this early. I don't mean us on here ( I doubt any players are even aware of this place) more focused on the media aspect.

Still, let's not discount what E2 is doing. We drafted him for the future and as an immediate insurance policy against an Evans and Godwin absence. He is living up to that expectation brilliantly. It's ok to be grounded AND optimistic.

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
Yea.....After 3 games.
Fans are so eager for the next big thing they won't actually wait it out to see if it's real and crowning players so fast. There are a lot more Cadillac Williams', Michael Clayton's, Peyton Hillis', RGIIIs than there are Barry Sanders', Larry Fitzgerald's, Tom Brady's.

Consistency is key. Injury avoidance is key. Mentality is key.
Not too high, not too low. Emeka has a real shot at threading the needle and I'm glad he's here, despite my initial kneejerk reaction during the draft.
Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
first ever..
Egbuka becomes the first Bucs wide receiver to earn a Rookie of the Month honor in team history and the first offensive Bucs player to do so since 2015.
If he keep it up, He'll win the unanimous ROTY

Didn't he set some sort of record right before they did that? Stuff was sent to commemorate that, not as an assumption he was going to the HOF to join the gear.Bootz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 1:28 pmCleats and jerseys were sent to the HOFTerry Tate wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 1:19 pm

Would have been nice if that had happened but....

https://www.profootballhof.com/news/200 ... okie-feat/In 2005 rookie running back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first player in National Football League history to start a career with three consecutive 100-yard rushing performances. In addition, his 434 yards on the ground in those three games surpassed Alan Ameche’s record of 410 set in 1955 as a member of the Baltimore Colts.
Below are the shoes and gloves worn by Williams when he set the new league mark.

In other words, nobody was crowning him anything. Just commemorating a very rare thing__Chef__ wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 6:54 pmhttps://www.profootballhof.com/news/200 ... okie-feat/In 2005 rookie running back Carnell “Cadillac” Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the first player in National Football League history to start a career with three consecutive 100-yard rushing performances. Is this game going to be a throw down as to which Ohio State WR is the best?

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
Take your pick. Both guys put on a show today.
Emeka Egbuka: 7/7 163 yards 1 TD
Jaxon Smith-Njigba 8/9 132 yards TD
They showed why Ohio State is WR University.

I was looking to buy a Jersey, this is the one, the White Egbuka. I was going to get the Mayfield one, but I got a Freeman Jersey once and it doomed him.
