Divisional Round Discussion
Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Loved watching 6 defensive linemen early in the game against Eagles on run downs. Also have been liking the rotation between Britt and Devin White based on situations. Just like the phrase "Playoff Lenny", there needs to be a phrase to describe Bowles' creative defensive schemes in big games like the Superbowl and vs the Eagles. Guy seems to have something awesome in store against teams that have beaten him during regular season and I hope the trend continues in Detroit. "Big game Bowles"?

Latest injury report out:

Diaby and Godwin trending up, Shaq still out. LaPorta downgrade is a bit of a surprise.

Not stepping on your toes @Pirate Life. Just posting the embedded tweet.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Kinda concerned with Edmonds being out. We're gonna need to run the ball against the Lions and don't need to run White into the ground.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
For someone who thinks we have a garbage pass defense... because you're so good at recognizing it, how come you don't see how the Lions pass defense is way worse?
We shouldn't worry about running against the Lions. We should throw the ball. We should utilize the screen/outlet game to supplement our running game. I'd think you'd be all in favor of putting the ball in Mayfield's hands.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Lions activated Houston from the DL, adding another pass rusher.

I was listening to his interview and he said he's only been practicing at safety for a couple weeks.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:58 pmWas it McCollum who knocked Julio Jones out on his feet? That was one vicious but legal hit.
He came across as really bright and it makes sense, picking up a new position so quickly.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
I want the Bucs to defeat the Lions, the Packers defeat the 49's, so the Bucs can host the NFC championship game.
Re: Divisional Round Discussion
That does seem to be the best possible outcome.
Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Is this the game where our receivers want to show off their blocking skills?
Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Maybe he's been hurting longer than we know cuz Shaq had no stats against the Eagles.
Weird, but then why do you give him 44 snaps.

Because their pass rush, namely Aiden Hutchinson, can wreck a game.CannonFire wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 5:37 pmFor someone who thinks we have a garbage pass defense... because you're so good at recognizing it, how come you don't see how the Lions pass defense is way worse?

If Baker is dropping back 40+ times it had better been because we ran a ton of plays on offense.

@Bootz Guess my score I'm going to post.

Do we still have time to sign playoff Lenny?

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Expecting Baker to carry the team w/o a running game has not happened often this season. When the Bucs ran for 100 yards they were 6-1 this season including the playoff game. Had 99 against the Packers. 6 of the 9 wins they ran the ball for 99 or more yards in the regular season. They absolutely need to run the ball. The Tom Brady led Bucs needed playoff Lenny to win in the playoffs. Baker is 1-12 in his career when passing 40 or more times. His best win percentage is 20-25 passes and anything over 30 the win percentage starts decreasing fast.CannonFire wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 5:37 pmFor someone who thinks we have a garbage pass defense... because you're so good at recognizing it, how come you don't see how the Lions pass defense is way worse?

I am just so nervous about this game. I think within the 1st quarter we will see how good our chances are.

I’d prefer we get the 49ers and then the Bills in the Super Bowl.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 5:39 pm I want the Bucs to defeat the Lions, the Packers defeat the 49's, so the Bucs can host the NFC championship game.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
My dilemma: kids’ game (that I coach) is at 3:30p, shoot around starts at 3. That means I’ll most likely miss at least the entire 1st half.
I can either:
A) pick it up mid-game immediately after the game on my phone until I get to a TV.
B) I can shut myself off from the world until I’m home, and start it from the beginning hoping to catch up to real time before it ends.
This sucks.

The game is on NBC & Peacock. Get Peacock. Put it on your phone.Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 10:26 pm My dilemma: kids’ game (that I coach) is at 3:30p, shoot around starts at 3. That means I’ll most likely miss at least the entire 1st half.

I vote for calling in sick, or reschedule the shoot around and then watching the game at 3pmDeja Entendu wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 10:26 pm My dilemma: kids’ game (that I coach) is at 3:30p, shoot around starts at 3. That means I’ll most likely miss at least the entire 1st half.

Re: Divisional Round Discussion
Buc's new BattleSounds is up on their Youtube for the last game. Wirfs pregame pep talk is what being a leader is all about. Crazy to think he was the 4th OT drafted that year... kid was the top 1 or 2 RTs in the game, switches positions to LT and is quickly top 5 at that position while still learning it. Toss in his leadership qualities and 4 years in he's an all-time great Buc (if not all-time great player period).

I have peacock, and that’s how I’ll throw it on if I go with plan A. Do you know if peacock lets you start from the beginning? YT did for Sunday ticket, but I won’t be able to access my cable’s DVR on my phone until after the recording is done (dumb).Bootz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 10:35 pmThe game is on NBC & Peacock.
