Shame of the Game- Patriots
My Shame of the Game goes to offensive coordinator Byron LeftBITCH who called all the wrong passing plays tonight including two shots at the end zone on the final drive when they could've easily gotten the first down and then run out the clock. This high octane offense scored ONE touchdown tonight. Very lucky to escape with a win. He sucks as an offensive coordinator and needs to go.

Donovan Smith. Judon kicked his ass tonight.

Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
Good call but that hands to the face call was bullshit. He was trying to block Judon and got his arm forced up. Didn't even put his hand to the face. A bullshit call wiped out a huge gain from AB that probably would've broken open the game.
My Honorable Mention goes to the officiating crew for several shit calls that favored BeliCHEAT's squad, that one included.

Sloppy weather game, against a team fired up to make a statement for the GOAT coach against the GOAT player - Ryan Succop. His missed kick was an extremely impactful part of the end of game drama.

Refs - had some horrendous calls tonight
Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
He had some bad throws. He also threw a dime TD to AB which was dropped at a crucial point in the game.
it’s usually too difficult to pin a game on one player.

Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
I'd go with Donovan Smith also.
Brady was too amped up early on and it was leading to some uncharacteristic overthrows.
But I'll take an off game from Brady where he still doesn't turn the ball over and gets us in the Red Zone 4 times.

How do we know Leftwich called the deep shots vs. Tom decided to take the deep shots?Defense5599 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:59 pm My Shame of the Game goes to offensive coordinator Byron LeftBITCH who called all the wrong passing plays tonight including two shots at the end zone on the final drive when they could've easily gotten the first down and then run out the clock. C'mon man. You know fan logic 101. If the play worked, it means the players did all of the work and did well. If it didn't, it means the coaches set the player up to fail with a bad playcall.13F11B wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 9:25 amHow do we know Leftwich called the deep shots vs. Brady is not stupid. He's one of the smartest players in the game, ever. Leftwich, on the other hand.....13F11B wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 9:25 amHow do we know Leftwich called the deep shots vs. So, why didn't Brady pass to one of the open receivers? Why didn't Brady change the play call? I think you are making an assumption.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 9:54 amBrady is not stupid. He's one of the smartest players in the game, ever. Leftwich, on the other hand.....

Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
Shame of the game goes to whoever decided to play Carlton Davis, who was doubtful to begin with, on Special Teams!!
This was our Chicago game from last year. Went in beat up, hurting, patching it together. Played a 1-2 pt game scoring under 20 pts. Rough, defensive game with refs costing us points. With the already ugly ending even uglier in the loss of a star player !!
Unlike Vita, this made ZERO sense and hurts more. Should we not be limiting stress on him if he’s already beat up. ESPECIALLY in a bad weather game and him being our TOP corner ?!?!
It would of been like Evans playing S/T last year in Chi when he was hurt giving it a go cus we had no WRs. Here BA said in hindsight he would not have let ME play that game again because it was more of a setback than anything.

No criticism will be accepted of Donovan Smith. He's one of God's perfect angels and Anthony Munoz can't hold his jock.

Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
At times during the playoff run last year, he looked not completely incompetent. Conversely, Sunday night he looked like he does a lot of the time, like a guy with the most talented team on offense in the league who would've been unemployed by now if he didn't also have the best QB in history to bail him out.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:59 pm My Shame of the Game goes to offensive coordinator Byron LeftBITCH who called all the wrong passing plays tonight including two shots at the end zone on the final drive when they could've easily gotten the first down and then run out the clock. Considering a lot of starters play special teams, how is this stupid?LavonteDavid54 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 1:18 am Shame of the game goes to whoever decided to play Carlton Davis, who was doubtful to begin with, on Special Teams!!

It's a stupid fan overreaction. Even before the injury, CD3 had played 28 ST snaps so far this season. Last year he played 79 ST snaps. Nearly every DB on this team and most every other NFL team plays special teams. Starters and backups alike. Had he not been in, the only alternatives that could've replaced him were Jordan Whitehead, Richard Sherman, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, or Antonio Brown. Just curious who the choice would've been to be gunner.

I still don't know why we need to have gameday inactives in 2021. The cost savings is minimal, and it would allow teams more flexibility to dress their entire 53 to round our the depth charts and special teams, while opening the door for those on the inactive list to shine when their moments come instead of sitting on the sidelines in shorts and a ball cap.
Sorry to rant.

Re: Shame of the Game- Patriots
I assume it's to incentivize teams not to rush injured guys back. If you have to leave some guys on the sidelines anyway, it lessens the pressure on teams to rush a guy back from injury. It also lessens the chance teams just dump an injured fringe player and sign someone off the street.Cheb wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 1:52 amI agree. I agree, the system should be reformed. Maybe with a separate list of some kind, dunno. Maybe just a flat-out roster expansion. 60 players, 55 active each week, something like that. I don't see what the downside is for anybody.
