Welcome Andre Anthony!

EDGE guy from LSU. 6'4 251. 9 sacks over the last two seasons. Will be 26 during the season.

Seems like a real longshot unless he's a special teams stud.

Even if he does make the team, it's hard to imagine him getting a second contract in this league at that age unless he blows up.

He'll be 26 this season, he spent 6 years in college, and he's coming off a major knee injury. That's a good trio

So Andre Anthony will turn 30 in the final year of his rookie deal. And he's injury prone. And he wasn't exactly dominant before his knee injury.

That's a yikes from me fam.

He's not here for a long time. Just rotational depth for this run.

He had 3.5 sacks in 3 games last year before getting hurt. Not sure if he can be anything, but I always approve of young guys competing for spots on the line of scrimmage.

One would think there was better rotational talent available that might also have had potential.

Why immediately assume he has no potential?

That is a good question. Not sure if Doctor has an answer.

That's why he's a 7th round pick. He's got the tools to play and if not for that major knee injury, he'd easily be a 4th rounder.

Andre Anthony: When will he be 100% healthy?

4.63 forty and that's after his ACL.

This stood out for me. It sounds like the light was coming on. That said, he hasn't played football in some time, and at 25, he was basically a man playing against kids.

Our edge guys right now are Shaq and JTS (Gholston/Nelson are something a bit different.) Behind those two is Cam Gill, who I really like and who flashed at times last year. Presumably, AA (as I dub thee) will push Gill, and/or push someone at a different position off the roster as a special teamer.

You left out Ponder.

Based on what little I know about him, I think he's more a nickel three tech rusher than an edge guy.

There IS a job here for this Anthony kid, but he'll have to win it on special teams.

Shit, only like 3 months until the shakeout begins. Three. Long. Months.

Tampa has had Ponder drop his weight to what he was as a freshman, so he's almost twenty pounds lighter.

NFL.COM is running a video right now on Cameron Thomas and how he first got on the field for San Diego St.

The DE positions were taken so he volunteered for nose tackle at 230 lbs.

Currently the Cards have him penciled in as a OLB.

Interesting, but he probably faces long odds.

My best guess as to the makeup of the DL:

Vita Vea
Logan Hall
Nacho
Pat O'Connor (in name only - he's a core special teamer)
One of: Benny Potato, Willington Previlon, Deadrin Senat, Kobe Smith, A Tryout Player, or an UDFA/Marginal Player to be named later.
Either Suh or an experienced veteran who profiles similar (Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, Brandon Williams, etc, etc)

4 years of Nacho 48 tackles - hmm 12 tackles a year? Yeah Buc fans will take that.

1. Their job is to eat up blockers
2. Noches has only played the last few years
3. Pat has rarely played
4. I agree, not many tackles

#4 tells me no mdb you should not be shown the door.
#1 tells me who is going after the QB and moving him off his mark. (or blasting him)
