Think it is the DB from Miami... Sean Taylor? That was killed during a home invasion a few years back. I believe they retired his number or put him in their RoH this season.

Pretty sure he blew up the Punter on that play.
That is what it is.

The commies is the best outcome for a nickname.
It gets worse when you shorten it to one syllable.

The Washington Commas

The Washington Condoms

The Washington Commons

The Washington Co-Mans

The Washington Committees

And of course every time they lose, The Washington Commanded

But Commies is already a classic, heh.

Until you mentioned in earlier I didn’t even think about how to shorten the name. You can’t 😂.

Don’t teams have consultants and think tanks to helps with re-branding? How the hell did they fuck this up so badly?

There’s an element of “you can’t please everyone.” I think the teams use that as an excuse to do whatever they want.

Branding fuck ups in American pro sports happen every. single. year. NBA is a disaster. MLS is a disaster. NFL is following suit.

You’re right that it happens often, but damn if this doesn’t seem pretty bad. WFT grew on me so maybe the Commies will too.

Crazy part is they had The People's Team as part of the shield originally. The fans around here complained enough to get that removed when it came out a bit ago.

If the Saints hire Brian Flores it’s going to be bad for us. The man is a damn good coach & with that defense he will wreck this division.

Did Harbaugh have a change of heart, or did the Vikings inform him they were going another direction?

Pop Quiz (I just saw this on Twitter, so if you saw it also, please don't answer) -

Only 1 active quarterback has multiple Superbowl rings. Who is it?

It has to be a QB who won it as a backup. I’m racking my brain to figure it out without cheating. Off the top of my head the teams that have won in the last decade:

Bucs (Brady)
Pats (Brady)
Chiefs (Mahomes)
Eagles (Basic backup can’t remember his name at the moment)
Seahawks (Wilson)
Steelers (Ben)
Broncos (Manning)
Giants (the bad Manning)
Packers (Emo)

Maybe it’s someone who won over a decade ago? It has to be a backup QB. I’ll be back after thinking some more.

Garoppolo
Correct. He won a couple as TB12's backup in New England.

Not having even one starting QB in the league with multiple titles is bizarre. Obviously the first time since 2003. Not sure how often it's ever happened, though.

he has a Tomlin persona in him - seems like a tough dude - not sure what he's like as a head coach but he seems like someone with a backbone

speaking of tanking, anyone remember Lovie Smith doing it to get Winston?

Of all the things they could do, Flores would be the best. But here's what you have to keep in mind - Goodell is going to exert pressure on the owners in this matter. If Goodell wants Flores blackballed, he'll be blackballed. On the other hand, Goodell might want him to get hired, because it undermines his lawsuit. I honestly don't know. But if it's the first thing, nobody will be hiring him.

Agreed. Some talk today that more coaching candidates may join the suit. I still think the lawsuit filed is making a mistake in including the "tanking" issue as it may ultimately end up being a distraction to the overall point but we shall see.

I watched a couple of snaps and when I saw the no real pash rush and no real hitting I decided to skip watching. I think flag football would be more interesting to watch.
