Non Tom Brady Hall Of Fame Quarterback News:

He's not brimming with credibility right now, but Ian Rapaport is saying that Aaron Rodgers stayed in Green Bay for several days after their season ended and met with the organization. There's some guarded optimism he'll be back.

With 1 more TD in this game Mahomes will have thrown more TDs in a conference championship than anyone not named Tom Brady. He's tied for 2nd now.

Man...I have to say, I cannot remember a season where there were so many good, close playoff games. Once we got past the WC Round that is. Kinda crazy. I hope the SB continues that trend. If it does, this is gonna be a blast.

The NFL is delivering a primo product right now. Been saying it for a bit, but we're in a new golden age of football.

I do miss the days when defense and running backs actually mattered.

I did. It was one heck of a game. I think Joe Burrow is a better QB than Mahomes (Mahomes is REALLY good) and I think the AFC as a whole has a huge advantage in QB talent right now.

Burrow, Mahomes, Allen. Those three dudes could be the best QBs in the league next season and they are all young.

He's a great coach. Speaking as a Michigan alum, it would suck if he leaves but I understand.

Any insight into this Cheb?

Doesn’t like NIL? Misses NFL? Beat OSU and time to go?

If the Buccaneers job truly opens up I will be disappointed we did not have an opportunity to get Harbaugh (assuming the reports are true).

What I've always read is, Michigan was never his ultimate goal. Returning to the NFL and winning a title was.

The Vikings are an interesting choice for me, just because they're in that sludgy middle, where they aren't close to competing for a title with this roster, but they also aren't awash in cap space and draft capital. They don't really have a QB (unless he's a Kellen Mond fan, I guess.) They're not great on either line. It's a haphazardly constructed roster with some bad contracts.

All of this is purely speculation, so take it with as many grains of salt as you wish.

But if I were to hazard a guess, Michigan this past season has just about peaked. We beat Ohio State, won our division and conference, and made the college playoff. We were the first team in college playoff history to start the season unranked and make the playoffs.

A person could argue, and I couldn't really argue against them, that that's a pretty damn good season. He brought his alma mater back to some semblance of national prominence, however fleeting, and the likelihood of a dropoff is pretty high.

I think the allure of the NFL is pretty strong for anyone, especially those who have proven that they can coach at both the college and pro levels. He wants a Superbowl ring, and he was a more successful pro coach than he was in college.

One could say that his star is at its brightest, and if he wants to ever make the jump into the pros again that now is his time to do so. To be sure, the path of least resistance is to stay in Ann Arbor until he retires. But I think there would be at least a small part of him kicking himself at the chance to not chase that Superbowl ring. He got damn close before, and I think he'd like his odds to get damn close again.

As I said, take the above with skepticism, but I'd say that's a fair take.

Two years and that's what they came up with?

Kudos to the genius who thought to include the clip of the huge hit at about 0:34 where it looks like a Washington player is getting blown the fuck up. Split second frame so I had to go back and pause it to see what the hell was going on.

Looks like maybe it was from a probowl? NFC in blue, AFC in uniforms that, in a split second, look like those of Washington. Hope you caught that blurred glimpse of the logo on the helmet. 90 years and the only defensive hit they could come up, they're not even in uniform.

I like the fact that Doug Williams made the video. He was my favorite Buccaneers QB for years and years.

I saw several legacy Washington players, including Brian Mitchell and Coach Gibbs. I grew up a Washington fan prior to move to Florida (and now back in Va) .. I actually was surprised they had a lot of the history .. that helps (me at least).

I did a little research on the other two names that were fan favorites

Believe it or not .. there is a Major League Quidditch team that owns the rights to Admirals .. so that was a no go.

There were tons of "wolve" like logos, and it would have been a long hurdle to clear.

Wolves on its own works too but I wonder if there wasn't a ton of copyright issues. If I was a fan in DC I'd be let down waiting 2 years and that's the new name. It feels like they took a name that was available and ran

Did they give zero consideration that NFL fans shorten team names all the time? The results aren't good for "Commanders"....

Horrible jerseys. Horrible team name. I feel sorry for Washington fans they have it bad all around.

Did they not think their nickname would end up being the Commies?

I live in DC and they aren’t really disappointed just because they have been conditioned to expect the worst, but they do hate it yes.
