Wrong thread for this discussion, but thoughts on Saquon Barkley? I was hearing rumors (radio show opinion, fwiw) about the Bucs looking at him a couple of weeks ago.

Our offense would be fucking ridiculous. Even if Saquon has been slowed a bit by his injuries he's still a top 10 back in the NFL. The NYG line is really that bad. He would be an instant upgrade over Lenny in pretty much every area but pass blocking (maybe, I haven't watched enough of Barkley to make a judgement on that part of his game). He's younger, more explosive, runs with just as much power, is at least as good of a receiver out of the backfield.

Our basic offense could feature Brady, Gronk, Evans, Godwin, Barkley, and either Brate or whoever ends up as our #3 receiver. That's pretty insane if you ask me.

I personally think Marpet is done and is focusing on his family but it's not 100% crazy considering Jensen had a solid offer from Cincy and chose to stay now too. I'm very curious who will follow suit. Gronk I'm sure is coming back. If Lenny wants to come back, OBP needs to give him longer than a 1 year deal out of respect for the fact Lenny's got a family to take care of and surely Lenny understands this COULD be Brady's last year.

Right. My point was that none of us can say Wirfs won't change his mind. We've seen it more than once over the years, Brady notwithstanding. Like you, I think Wirfs is done solely based on what he's said. But I've learned to never say never.
