Your Bucs 2024 end of season record prediction contest

Post by Babeinbucland »

Ok, so from our 2024 schedule below:

1.Delineate which games you predict we will win and which games you predict we will lose - NOT just the end of year record

2.Winner will be determined by how many individual games win/loss predicted correctly NOT the prediction of our total season win/loss record
(although that will be interesting to see regardless).

3. At the end of the season whomever predicted with the most accuracy which specific games we won and which specific games we lost, will win the title of Tampa Bay Bucs ‘Most prolific knowledgable football brain of the game‘.

4.You may edit your pics up until September 8, 2024 4:23pm

5.If we win more than 11 games I will include a prize for this years winner -
These can be made either male or females: Buc's Earrings, Bucs keychain, Bucs bracelet, Bucs ring -

Watching some of the highlights from last season, including playoff games scares me a bit. So many damn sacks in so many games because of Baker being tentative and indecisive. We are a 8-9 win team again if Baker doesn't improve on that weakness. I have some faith in Coen that he will improve the run game and coach these bad tendencies out of Baker.

Bowles is not going to let Trask play. If the Bucs are 3-8, Bowles will say the Bucs could still end up 9-8 and Mayfield gives the Bucs the best chance of doing that.

Baker would have to play worse than he did all last year for a really long stretch of games to lose his job.

Takes a special kind of hater to make that sort of prediction while still trying to sell you how they're "just a realist".

FIFY. I'm not saying I think this will happen but if you're opting to be more realistic this time around, this is essentially what you're saying.

See you act like you made a point but you know you didn't. Because you can't help but to retort even when you know its wrong.

You people seem to overly worship analytical models around here, so et me ask me... What do you think a simple model would weigh more heavily when predicting Bakers future, his time here with his teammates here, which he's repeating with right now... or his time on teams where everybody be losing their jobs?

Yall can keep holding on to his past baggage... coworkers and situations he did not chose and had no control over... or you can look at what this group, this family that has chosen each other is about.

According to ESPN's 2023 QBR ranking, Mayfield was ranked at #18. That is in the bottom half of QB's. Fans in most home towns would normally be saying that a former #1 pick in his 5th year, who had the best year of his career should be a top 10 QB. Not in the bottom half. Most fans would think that it is time for an upgrade.

Well what exactly are you using as a model to predict his future? Or is it just an opinion?
Everyone's predictions of the future is just an opinion.

Everyone's predictions of the future is just an opinion.
And it should be respected as much.

A simple, basic regression model. The kind used for almost all analytics. I'm asking you what a simple regression model would weigh heavier.

Spoiler, it's the last season.

We also know this in the human world as "what have you done for me lately".

But you know this. You're acting like you don't but you do.

Takes a special kind of hater to make that sort of prediction while still trying to sell you how they're "just a realist".
Hey, it was our GM and our coach who said, just 12 months ago that Trask and Mayfield were neck and neck. Even told us that just 8 months ago. Are you saying that they were lying to us? If not, then there's no reason to pull the plug and see if they were right about Trask. I mean, Licht's a good GM who can recognize a good QB right? Why wouldn't this be a chance to prove he was right?

In Cleveland, 2020 (w/Baker), won 11 games. The HC was Stefanski & OC was Alex Van Pelt. Wanna guess who the HC and OC in Cleveland is right now? Doesn't look like anyone there was losing their jobs? If I recall, the people in LA were and are still in place. Both of those teams won more games than the Bucs last year.

Your claim is hanging on Carolina?

Despite those providing some really negative vibes about the upcoming season, I'm going to remain positive and look forward to a 3-14 season.

Dorsey the OC in Cleveland right now. What was it like 2 GMs, 3 HCs, 4 OCs while Baker was there. Yeah, such stability.

Also, you taking one training camp comment and spiraling out an entire ridiculous thesis and convincing yourself it's anything but mad is incredible.

Ok, my bad, didn't realize that ownership had a hissy fit and let Van Pelt go despite Stefanski wanting back. Still, Stefanski and Van Pelt were there with Mayfield and after and still won 11 games and made the playoffs. Clearly, they were just fine without him.

Glad Mayfield has stability here though, right? Oh wait, he has a new OC already. Oops.

You're sounding like one of those rampant ravaging homers where anytime someone says something that doesn't fall into your pie in the sky view, you have a hissy fit.

Hey, I'm not spouting anything negative. I am very positive that the Bucs will win about 7 games (maybe 6, maybe 8).

I think 19-0-2 tied with Atlanta with advanced tie breakers have us losing point differential by 1 and ending up being a wildcard team that no one wants to face

I'll be brief.

Bucs win every game, all season long.

NFL suit rides in the boat with Baker to prevent another Lombardi toss.

Why the hell not, it's silly season.

Back to offseason mode.
