I don't do social media so you and Greg seem to be front page.

Also, yes I looked him up - since your post.

With 4.48 speed, you have to give him a look. I don't care what the level of competition is, you can't teach speed.

Look harder.

What seems like a new trend, teams are going for non-drafted players as more than just camp fodder.

49ers went big for undrafted defensive tackle Evan Anderson: $280,000 total guaranteed money, $30,000 to sign and $250,000 of his base salary guaranteed. A 320 LB NT out of FAU who won't get many snaps but fills a role that they don't anymore have after D.J. Jones got signed by Denver.

The Washington Commanders have signed Colorado State cornerback Chigozie Anusiem to a deal worth $300,000 in base salary with a $50,000 bonus

The Washington Commanders have signed Notre Dame QB Hartman received a $20,000 signing bonus as well as a base salary guarantee of $225,000 for 2024.

The Seattle Seahawks are signing Boise State running back George Holani. Holani is receiving a $15,000 signing bonus, and $100,000 guaranteed in base salary

The Arizona Cardinals are signing Colorado wide receiver Xavier Weaver to a deal that will include $225,000 guaranteed

The Denver Broncos are signing Memphis defensive lineman Jaylon Allen to a deal with a $10,000 signing bonus, as well as $110,000 of his base salary guaranteed

The Carolina Panthers are signing Holy Cross wide receiver Jalen Coker to a deal includes a $25,000 signing bonus and $225,000 in guaranteed salary

The Seattle Seahawks are signing South Dakotan State offensive tackle Garret Greenfield for a $20,000 signing bonus and $195,000 in guaranteed salary

The Detroit Lions are signing Illinois wide receiver Isaiah Williams to a deal that includes a $15,000 signing bonus and $225,000 in guaranteed salary.

The list goes on and on....

I can read more. Don't cheat me.
I almost forgot. Here you go...

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents ... ract_value

The highest paid UDFA contract the Bucs signed was for Judge Culpepper w/$100K guaranteed ($25K bonus).

So, based on this, I think it's safe to say that UDFA guarantees are pretty common.

I originally thought the Culpepper signing was a local feel good signing but if they're giving him $100k they must feel he can at least stick on the PS.

@Bootz

Ask Greg what was Wayne Ruby's injury.

They cut him and then put him on IR.

Waived LB Dequan Jackson and WR Wayne Ruby with an injury designation.

Ruby (undisclosed) reverted to Jacksonville's IR list Thursday after going unclaimed on waivers, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.

It's unclear what type of injury specifically Ruby is dealing with, but in any case, the wideout -- who officially joined the Jaguars as a UDFA earlier this month -- will remain on IR unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder logged 75 receptions for 1,124 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 games last season for Division III Mount Union.

True. Devin White was fast (4.42 in the 40) and the Buccaneers proved you could not teach him.

Some guys aren't cut out to be stars. But if it's a matter of coaching, that's on the Bucs coaching staff. Great quote here.

I am not sure I will blame the coaching staff for Devin White. The Buccaneers have a pretty good track record of being able to coach up LBs, CBs, and S. Not so much when it comes to QBs. Devin's issues appeared to be he way too often overreacted to what he saw and thought his speed would make up for any mistakes vs. playing smart within the game plan.

Devin seems to be more you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

His problems in college stayed his problems in the NFL. You can’t teach the athleticism, but I also don’t think you can truly teach the instincts no matter how hard you work at it. Coaches continue to think they can.

And that has always been the criticism of the pick. Top 5 guys shouldn’t have those flaws in their game. He never got better.

Some humans hear coaching as criticism and end up invested in being defensive instead of guided. It is simply the way their nervous system is wired and it takes a hugh mental shift to change that. When I took ballet classes and dance classes in general as a younger person. The dance teacher giving you a correction (coaching) was considered an honor because the teachers pretty much ignored anyone who they thought was a waste of their time - didn’t even matter if you paid the same money as anyone else in the class. So getting a direction, instruction, correction from the teacher was a badge of honor and we learned that correction was the most valuable honor to take from that class. I don’t think White ever learned that valuable lessen.

I would imagine that up until the NFL, and even for some things in the NFL, White's freakish athleticism allowed him to achieve despite not getting guidance. I hope the change of team does him some good. He seems like a genuinely nice human from the interviews I have seen and it would be nice for him to find success.

So. did the Eagles get a former first rounder or a undrafted free agent quality?

I would say a former first rounder who had success and with a willingness to listen to coaching a first round talent. The fact that he experienced a bit of a set back with the Buccaneers could be the wake up call that finally gets through. The chance to start with new coaching might help as well.

Based on his actions on the field, I'm going to have to go with someone in between. I'm going to say a mid-round draft pick that shows flashes where playing time will be metered based on performance.

This is possible of course. Guys do bounce back. Depends how they deploy him and if they can scheme up ways to mask his flaws.

Nahh I want him to fail, and fail hard, especially since he's an iggle.

When LVD was asked about Devin White moving on from the Bucs was asked the best thing about Devin White was that he loved his horses. That and when asked about the impact of losing DW, LVD said you do your job and you will be in the game. I honestly think DW care more about his horses then football and that will never change. There were others who said that White only talks about horses all day in the locker room

Didn’t one of his horses die from neglect or some shit? I think LVD is just turning the page on White because White was a locker room cancer idiot at the end.

Love your horses but ride the horse that fits you. I really wonder if he was clueless about it.

I don't know a horse dying of heat exhaustion during the first time a person was in a Florida summer is considered animal neglect
