IABL Predict The Score: Week 4, Tampa Bay at New Orleans, 1 October 2023
IABL Predict The Score: Week 4, Tampa Bay at New Orleans, 1 October 2023
Greetings
I know this is a little soon but I am traveling tomorrow, so I suggest people hold off making predictions tonight, let tempers cool first.
That said, welcome again to Predict The Score. You know what to do. But first, congrats to Buc2 who at first glance won the Week 3 contest with a 4 points off prediction, beating out acmillis with an anemic 60 yards for Godwin which itself was far over Godwin's real 32 yards. Edit: Buc2 has declined to accept the win (see Week 3 thread). acmillis is declared the winner of this week's contest.
The season standings are therefore as follows:
Week 1: Jonny, Predicted Bucs 20 Vikings 17, 0 points off. Whoa!
Week 2: Doooshnzl, Predicted Bucs 28, Bears 17, 1 point off, winning the tiebreaker over Kaimaru and Bootz (so close!)
Week 3: acmillis, Predicted Bucs 14 Eagles 26, 4 points off.
Now, the 2-1 Bucs travel to New Orleans to face the 2-1 Saints. Both teams lost this week, the Bucs in a more humiliating fashion, but nevertheless first place in the South goes to the winner so it is a huge game, bigger in its way than tonight's game.
Two tiebreakers will be used.
The first tiebreaker is total turnovers by both teams.
If that is a tie, the second tiebreaker is total yards from scrimmage for the Bucs offense (not defense, not special teams).
---
I'll begin.
I think the Bucs will win this game, thanks to the Saints QB.
Bucs 13
Saints 10
Total turnovers: 7
Total yards from scrimmage (offense): 290
Your turn.

I see a Jameis Special pick 6. Also they gave up 18 points in one quarter. They aren't Philly greatuscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 4:57 pm Where are we getting 31 points from?

Hard fought fourth quarter victory.
Hopefully the offense puts up 350 yards. Turnovers could be 6-7 with the way these QB’s play the game. Gotta be on our a game on defense.

I'm not saying it's not possible, but extremely unlikely given the season so far. The Saints defense, so far, is statistically better than the Eagles in PPG, yards per game, against the pass, sacks, 3rd down %...basically everything except the run.kaimaru wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 5:33 pmI see a Jameis Special pick 6. It's too early to say one is better than the other from just numbers as they've played different teams, but we didn't score 31 on 2 bottom 5 defenses.

2002 was really an awesome year to behold. I miss those days. 38 TO's in regular season and 4 in post season with 9 resulting in a TD (8 from INTs and 1 from FR).13F11B wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 9:46 am14 from the defense actually scoring on turnovers.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 4:57 pm Where are we getting 31 points from?

Figured I'd wait till mid-week to see where we are on practice DNPs. So many injuries on the defensive side of the ball. If This is going to be an ugly game in NO.

If we got a pick six (hey we got a pick of Jameis), I would have been spot on. I figured 3 scores for NO, didn't think we'd keep them out of the endzoneuscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 26, 2023 6:14 pmI'm not saying it's not possible, but extremely unlikely given the season so far. I'm still moving, didn't even see the score until just now.
Thanks for checking, maybe Buc2 will take the win this week!

Yeah, you are right. Not sure how I did my math yesterday.

Winning with a Bucs win definitely tastes much better. I'll take this one.
