Enjoyed the game, offense looked ok while the defense looked great against a bad offense. Bears have some good players who made plays as well. We had players who made more plays

My only reaction is it is way, WAAAYYYY too early to say but if Mayfield would actually turn into what was expected of him while here it would see Tampa on the other side of QB history for once
This team has been fun so far. Last year felt like passing a kidney stone

We can see glimpse of averaging 35 points a game in this offensive scheme. Team needs another game or two to get the tweaks in and clicking. The missed pass to Godwin, dumb offensive penalties. Clean it up and we add another 10 points to the scoreboard easily today.

I love it here

I’m bewildered why Bucs refuse to extend Evans contract?

Only caught the tail end of the game due to some unfortunate kitchen faucet replacement timing. But from what I saw, the team looked great. Was surprised to see Baker have a very efficient and productive day with 76% completion rate and over 300 yards passing with a tuddy. Not too bad imo. So far the new scheme seems to really fit Baker's strengths.
Evans appears to have had a monster game as well.
I started watching around the time Barrett iced the game with that amazing pick six at the endzone.
One thing that really stood out to me though is the team celebration after that. Evans was pumped up, going crazy with Barrett and the team. Everyone else looked....happy. Idk, I'm getting more of a Team feeling this year than last year and maybe the year before. Perhaps the Brady effect had an unfortunate consequence of making the team about Him rather than Everyone. He didn't do anything to cause that, it's just the nature of the beast. But now, they look like a Team through and through. Maybe I'm wrong, just something I noticed.
Go Bucs.

It is but it isn't. The bad part about drafting well is you have to pick where to spend the money. This team is going to have to break the bank, Winfield, Tristen, Get Live, Lavonte and depending how the season turns out, Baker. I think Mike stays, but it gets done next off season when the Bucs gauge the market and they drop that Brady cash money. Ultimately I also think they cut Jensen next year to save cash.
Re: Week 2 Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Bears 27-17
I don’t think Jensen is coming back.. no way

The preseason is over.
The next 5 games are going to be telling:
Eagles, Saints, Lions, Falcons and Bills

I don’t want him to come back. Him being able to walk with his kids and grandchildren is more important than the Bucs winning games. Even if I was a selfish fan, I’m not sure he actually is our best option going forward after missing two seasons in a row at his age.

Baker is a magician at avoiding sacks. He's missed a couple gimme TDs now but besides that he's not looking bad overall. Made some great throws on the run. Also we gotta pay Evans.
Re: Week 2 Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Bears 27-17
Last year this team from early TC through the whole season felt like a vortex of negativity. A spiral of doom, of inevitability.
Through two games, this feels like 180 degree opposite. Its nice to root for a scrappy underdog that doesn't feel like its one step away from the rug being pulled out from under them morale-wise. Just going to enjoy this.

I was never, ever a Mayfield hater, hun. I was pretty neutral about him. But I REALLY wanted Trask so that we could see what he could do and I didn’t have the confidence in Mayfield given his pedigree. But as I said earlier. I will be thrilled to be wrong.
I said what I said

We definitely left 20 more. It was closer that it should have been.
Re: Week 2 Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Bears 27-17
A lot of people wanted Trask. Everyone simply wanted an answer to emerge. And while not as puritan as drafting your own, I personally think the story arch of a redeemed first overall pick is just sexy if it results in finding the guy.

After watching a bunch of highlights, I have to say that Baker seems to be tapping into his inner Mahomes with some of the plays he's been making out there.

Check out this little stat line...
Targets/Catches/Yards That kind of production out of your (mostly) outlet receivers definitely helps move those chains and keep the ball in the offense's hands.

Also just read that this is Mayfield's first 2-0 start in his career. Crazy.

ESPN has all the angles of the Barrett pick-6.

From Fields' POV, I can see why he thought that play was there.

Vaughn five yards a carry and don't fumble..
Re: Week 2 Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Bears 27-17
This is why we have Vaughn.
I wonder if we kick the tires on Akers.

I’d love to see them keep this up against a good team.
The real tests are around the corner.

After we beat the Eagles it's quite possible we don't play another undefeated team.

Probably should have won by 17-24 points as bad as the Bears offense is. But I'll take 2-0 and see what happens against the Eagles.

Can anyone do a welfare check on MJW?
Re: Week 2 Rapid Reactions: Bucs beat the Bears 27-17
I think she and I viewed things similarly. There’s a lot of winnable games on the schedule. This team has a bunch of talent. But it’s going to lack the high gear necessary to beat the best teams at the most important moments. They have not faced good competition so far.
She could very well be right.
