Welcome Cody Mauch
Welcome Cody Mauch
I never brag, but I'm going to today. I called this. What would a Jason Licht draft be without an inexplicable trade up for a project player?

One of my favorite players in this draft. Hopefully a young Jensen.
Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
You nailed it. Total Licht guy. Plays mean and through the whistle. Wants to mess someone up.

Pick definitely has Licht all over it. At least we addressed the line. I’m very happy.

Small school? Check.
Offensive tackle in college? Check.
But a likely pro guard? Check.
Goofy looking redhead? Check.
Plays mean? Check.
Licht has a type. The man can't help himself.

Love the pick. I literally told my wife and the commissioner was about to read the pick that I hope it's either Jones or Mauch that's called.

I hate Licht
Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
He had that "damn" they just sent me to the Falkland Islands look on his face when he heard his name called.
Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
Does anyone know what we gave up to make the trade?

Love that Licht is sticking to upgrading the trenches so far in this draft. We also finally got an OLineman who is a better run blocker than pass protector! Mauch definately checks all of the boxes that the Bucs go for when drafting OLineman.
Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
Him and Ryan Jensen will get along just fine.

Weird that some are negative about this pick and even the Kancey selection.
Good news is, I was super negative about the past two drafts because I correctly pointed out that they were dogshit picks. Me being positive about this draft can only be a good omen for this rookie class!

Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
When I was running mocks on PFF he was consistently my pick if we had gone Dline with our first. They had him rated around 50 overall, so we drafted in line with where he was expected to land. At least according to PFF ranks he was one of the last OTs on the board with a good rating for quite some time. Great pick
We could’ve gone OT at 19 but the drop off on dline at 50 was insane. Definitely played it right

Love this pick. As soon as I saw him as a prospect had to know it was meant to be. I see our starting OL now as Wrifs-Hainsey-Jensen-Mauch-Goedeke

Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
The first 2 picks are replacements for the first 2 picks last year. The top 2 picks in 22 were busts and the team has already given up on them.

Re: Welcome Cody Mauch
Mauch was an obvious target. Kinda surprised Licht already called him a guard, Mauch looked like he could hang at OT from what I saw. Licht said Goedeke could be the RT with Wirfs likely moving to LT now, I don’t mind moving Wirfs, might as well see what he can do, but Goedeke has even less length than Mauch.
Anyways, solid pick.

Apparently he did the entire Napoleon Dynamite dance routine at his high school talent show lol
Really hope we get to see that again at some point
