I bang the table on anyone who deserves it, no matter what they look like. People draw that distinction because of what I look like. If you say Lamar Jackson has had a better career than let's say Justin Herbert, no one bats an eye lash. If I say the exact same thing, People clutch pearls and say I'm playing the race game. There's a difference here.
I suppose some of it is natural like when we talked about transference (white kid pretends he's Brady, black kid pretends he's Jackson) but I can make a handful of examples where this kind of shit goes on.
Brock Purdy
Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson
Kyler Murray
Justin Fields
Justin Herbert
The two kids on the jets
Pretty much every black QB in the draft
Pretty much every white skill position player in the draft
Jameis Winston the whole time he was here

HA! Nice try at entrapment. Make some shit up then when you're asked about it, you back out. Thought you were better than this. And it's so convenient that you can name everyone else, but not "the 2 kids on the Jets". Do better.

Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
Yeah, you don't knock white players and coaches for the benefit of black players and coaches and I can't prove otherwise.
Well done. I am defeated.
Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
Of course you can't. You can't even name the "2 kids on the Jets" you referenced here because you made it up.
I didn't defeat you, you did it yourself.

Zach Wilson and Mike White. Aren’t those the “kids”?
Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
He doesn't know because he made it up. That's why he's back pedaling.
I said nothing about Mike White in the past. I was pretty optimistic on Zach Wilson though, I thought he'd be better than he was. Most people here were way more bullish on Zach Wilson than I was but of course as I stated an assumption will be made because of what I look like.

You make assumptions about people that post here based on things they say about a player based on that player's color all the time. So just stop with this b.s. It's ugly and has no place in here.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 5:52 pmHe doesn't know because he made it up. That's why he's back pedaling.

What's ugly is making shit up with no basis. Like @_MB_ did and like you and others do. That's what is ugly and has no place. So do better.Buc2 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 9:11 amYou make assumptions about people that post here based on things they say about a player based on that player's color all the time. Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
Unless some team makes an outrageous contract off to Lamar, I see the Ravens matching that offer.

Are "poison pills" still allowed in these deals?GreatTimes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 12:48 pm Unless some team makes an outrageous contract off to Lamar, I see the Ravens matching that offer.
For example, I can remember one player in this situation (drawing a blank on the specifics) who had shit like, 'Earns an addition $20 million if he plays more than 3 games in Ohio' or something like that in his deal. Another guy had a proviso that simply said if he wasn't the highest paid lineman on his team, his entire contract became instantly fully guaranteed. Stuff like that. I'd be surprised if the NFL hasn't fixed the issue since then.
The interesting thing will be if another teams makes the offer, the Ravens match, and Lamar simply refuses to play for them again. It could be a real mess.

Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
I saw the suggestion that he could refuse to play in the other thread if the Ravens match an offer. I mean, come on. Not happening.
Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
Why not? It worked out excellent for Watson, despite his baggage. He picked his destination and got his fully guaranteed deal.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:56 am I saw the suggestion that he could refuse to play in the other thread if the Ravens match an offer. Unless the contract the Ravens match is a MONSTER deal, I can absolutely see LJ playing it that way. Most fans probably wouldn't blame him, either, if it looked like he was getting hijacked.

Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
They nixed poison pills years ago iirc.
Refusing the play of Ravens match makes no sense and would be a disaster for all parties.

But what *is* a poison pill in this context?

Re: Lamar to the Falcons or Panthers?
The whole point is to let him test his market. If he gets an acceptable contract offer there’s just no way he wouldn’t play if the Ravens decided to match it.MJW wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 7:00 amWhy not? Watson was adamant that he’d never play for Houston again. Lamar had never said anything like that.
If the relationship is shattered to that point the Ravens would just take the picks.
