The Mt. Rushmore of FSU QB’s
The Mt. Rushmore of FSU QB’s
Agreed?
Aye or nay
I believe Danny Kanell had to be included on the list.
I was too young to watch Charlie Ward’s performance, but based on my older brother’s and YouTube reviews, he was similar to Randall Cunningham. I was surprised he wasn’t drafted!

I personally believe Casey Weldon was a better player than Jordan Travis. Weldon played for the Bucs in the early 1990s.

He was 20 years ahead of his time. Today, he'd be just like Russell Wilson. The NFL wasn't ready for that back in the mid 90s.Phantom wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 7:43 am Agreed?

He ended up being drafted into the NBA and had a nice career there. Point guard on the court and basically played the same position in football.
They had playmakers and he got them the ball

I'm a big Knicks fan and I recall New York sports media labeling him as the "best QB in New York" because he played at a time when the Jets and the Giants both sucked. Sure enough, one night, the Knicks were playing the Pacers. Down by one with no timeouts and 5.2 seconds left. Ward fakes out his guy, and heaves a bullet to Patrick Ewing who was standing just to the left of the foul line. Ewing caught it, pivoted, and hit the game winning jumper.Selmon Rules wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 3:32 pm He ended up being drafted into the NBA and had a nice career there. I recall a bit about Charlie Ward when he played for the Knicks. The playoff series against the Pacers is the one that stands out in my memory.BuccaNOLEer wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 5:26 pmI'm a big Knicks fan and I recall New York sports media labeling him as the "best QB in New York" because he played at a time when the Jets and the Giants both sucked. Well, the fact that he could win every major award for a college QB, not get drafted, then go on to spend the next nine years of his life playing pro BASKETBALL shows how gifted of an athlete he was. He wasn't the best shooter, but your point guard should not have to be your primary scorer.Phantom wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 5:06 pmI recall a bit about Charlie Ward when he played for the Knicks. As an outsider when I think of FSU QB I immediately think of Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke

Re: The Mt. Rushmore of FSU QB’s
Ward wasn't drafted but a lot of that could be placed at his own feet since he had made some statements to the effect that he wanted to be drafted in round 1 and, if he wasn't, he was going to play in the NBA. I think there was a pretty strong feeling that he was more interested in playing in the NBA that in the NFL. Absent that talk he's probably drafted although where is a good question.
I'm a Knicks fan and he was a pretty good player.

I think Ward can succeeded in the NFL like the Eagles offense in the 1990s They’re suited for him. Look at Cunningham. Rodney Peete (Lions) is another

Re: The Mt. Rushmore of FSU QB’s
Winston was the only one I recognize. If he's one of the 4 best to ever play at FSU, then all the people who trash Ohio State's QB's in the NFL need to add FSU to their list.
Re: The Mt. Rushmore of FSU QB’s
No.
It’s like when I think of Clemson QBs I think of Brandon Streeter
