Rapid Reactions Week 4: 19-17 Win @ New England: The Return

Post by Nano »

Yay...we're 3-1

And our entire fucking secondary is either hurt or has been hurt. These injuries are getting ridiculous.

Bucs win while the rest of the division loses, that’s a rare treat.

Humbling game. Brady, Arians, the entire team were smelling themselves way too much this week with all the talk of wanting to kick their ass. The Pats hit them in the mouth. We withstood but man this needs to be a wake up call.

Well, that could have been horrible. Everyone is hurt.

Run D did great. Finally got a 100+ yard rushing game from the offense finally. We didn't have a turnover on offense. Defense had four sacks tonight (when they previously had three in the prior three games). Joe Tryon flashed in a big way. Richard Sherman needed another week of practice, but he didn't lose us the game.

But goddamn that was ugly.

Glad we got the win. Onto the Dolphins next week.

Go Bucs.

This game was too much emotion for Brady imo. He is great, but even he couldn’t shut it all out.

Not a pretty game, but a win is a win at the end of the year. I’ll take being 3-1 but geez.

Let’s get healthy and get ready for the Fins at home. Go Bucs!

At this point our coaching staff will have to earn their paychecks. They have so many new players to coach up due to injuries. Getting this team to the playoffs will be harder than last year.

Brady was awful and was the reason that game was as close as it was.

We're 3-1 and we've played bad football through 4 games.

I'll take it.

If you're going to have a run of injuries, its best to have them early in the year. Guys can rally around each other and guys who wouldn't play can get some meaningful experience. It also makes Bowles have to grind. Its almost impossible to suss out the signal of a game in a complete downpour, but this was definitely his best called game thus far. Hopefully that continues.

White should have a pick six if Mac threw it better lol. He jumped it perfectly. Just off target.

Brown dropped a dime TD.

Too many plays to go through. It shouldn’t have been this close. The coaching is so bad for the Bucs and it’s why I expected it to be close. Nothing coaching wise is gonna change so hope the talent carries us through again.

But what about Bootz’ kids? Do they not matter?

Fuck you whoever you are. Your shtick isn’t funny.

The fact we're 3-1 while playing down to our opponent and looking bad most of the time shows how much could go right for us if we fixed our problems. That said we need to get healthy and fix our problems. I wish I could say I'm brimming with optimism. But I'm not. I'm really not. That game reminded me of the Dungy years.

I'm glad we won because that would've been a rough loss to go to sleep to

Lucky.

Officials really blew chunks again tonight on some of the calls. The no-call on the false start at the end of the game was absolutely brutal. Now sure how they can defend missing that.

Brady's decisions on the final drive to throw two deep balls were not good decisions. He gets the win but it was not good situational football.

I think Sherman did well out there given he is NO WAY in game shape and barely knew the defensive play calling. Sad to think he can come in and be better than the other guys we have on defense but the Buccaneers did not think that was going to be an issue going into the season. I know the injuries are killing them but they had to know they needed some depth.

I'm harassed on these boards regardless of what I say so no point in me being a homer and ignoring the awful aspects of the team.

Brady was bad. Fact. The Patriots lost that game, we didn't win. Another fact.

Sorry.
Yeah... You're sorry, all right.

It's one thing to experience a bad game, but believe that somehow, your team will pull out the win.

The ONLY time I was worried about this game is when we ate up almost no clock on our game-winning FG. Until then, the weather hurt us. Injuries hurt us. But you know what? We're the Bucs, man... We are the defending Super Bowl Champions, and we don't get that way by giving up to adversity. Have some faith in your team, man.

3-1 is what matters. Not gonna take too much away from a game like this.

The injuries are crazy at this point. But we’ve got a soft part of about schedule coming up. Need to start stacking some wins. Slog of the season begins.

We left a bunch of points out there.

1-4 in the Red Zone
Missed FG
A handful of drops

Glad we got a win on the road vs a team who played well.

Bucs were a better team and was able to overcome our mistakes.

Being 3-1 when we're not playing well and dealing with injuries is nice.

Hopefully we can get on another streak.

3-1 is nice but it’s naive to think this team doesn’t have some serious deficiencies.

quick stat to ponder: all four opposing qbs this year have completed >70% of their passes and averaged >341 yards of passing.

Maybe I saw a different game …

We had major injuries, our QB played in a game with more emotional baggage/jitters than all his SB combined!

We had HORRIBLE officiating ,from a fumble recovery early to horrible calls on the last drive!

We were in a very hostile crowd unlike anything we’ll be in all year!!

We were in rainy , shitty weather ! Not good for throwing the ball at all but did on the must have completions. We went against the greatest HC in NFL history in a game hes been working on for 6 months, they have a good OC, really good defense and we missed a chip shot FG!

I’m PROUD of this game!! Man our defense stepped up when it had to . We over came the calls. We got after it when we needed it. Got the sacks, hits n pressures.

On the last two drives we HAD to have points and we got them. We also had a minute and 2 timeouts had he made the kick!

We showed we can RUN the ball WHICH is my BITCH on every forum, YouTube clip n tweet. We run 30x we win 100% of time!

I’m prouder of this win than the ugly shootouts with stats. Way to go Bucs, proud of you guys !!!

Oh btw our 1st rd pick BALLED out on a huge stage!!
&
Our newly added former All Pro CB played okay considering 5 days ago he was on his couch! He’s gonna be big piece by Dec just like Fournette was last year!

So if we can get healthy little by little by November/ December we have our team from last year PLUS Tryon and Sherman !!

We lost this same type game last year in Chi - this was harder n pulled it out!

* Oh btw LAR lost as did NFC South!!

Just need to get some sort of damage control on these injuries..They need to heal up and get better. Do that and we’re still a force to be reckon with!!

I’m sleeping great tonight n tomorrow morning gonna be a great cup of coffee listening to the idiots on TV.

Patriots had -1 yd rushing for the game
2/9 on 3rd down

We need to get healthy. But this will be a fun season. It's great to have Brady.

yes, you clearly watched a different game.

emotional baggage for a 7x SB champ is bullshit. maybe for a quarter but not the entire game. he’s the goat but he sucked today.

blaming the officials is excuse-making homerism; this team beat itself.

hostile crowd unlike anything we’ll be in all year? we’re the defending champs and should expect it every game.

rainy, shitty weather, not good for throwing the ball? the rookie mac jones was 31/40 for 275 yards and 2 tds. was it raining when he was throwing the ball?

appreciate the optimism but you were watching a different game.

Brady makes a couple passes every game that no previous Bucs QB would even consider throwing. surgical precision at full speeds. Adjusting trajectory to fit it into the narrowest of windows.

Rough game overall. Clearly not declining yet.
