We beat them in the Glennon game you mention in w2 of 2017
Then they destroyed us in the Mitch Trubisky game when Jamiss returned from suspension in 2018.
They they won the 20-19 game last year.
I think the Bucs put a hurtin on them this time. Their offense isn't good and their defensive secondary is very suspect to the point they play light box upfront so they can play soft coverage. Thus teams are running on them despite having good front 7 personnel. They aren't even good against the pass either. Much like Philly they play a ton of quarters and C3 soft zone coverage to protect their secondary.
If they can't pressure Brady with their front 4 (potentially without Quinn) they are in for a long day.
Bears have some parallels from the Eagles in terms of a young mobile QB that isn't very polished as a passer along with a defense that plays a similar scheme. So playing those two opponents consecutively is advantageous for the Bucs imo.
Plus there is the revenge factor from last year. Bucs will remember how sloppy that game was last season and hopefully want to atone for that performance.
Plus it's in RayJay.

Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
Maybe PFF has tweaked their formula. Maybe not. We'll never know. But that said, these grades seem to somewhat pass the eye test.
Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
Sounding like we'll be without AB this weekend. That sucks.
Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
He has yet to pass for 200 yards in a game. I sincerely doubt that is going to happen. There is a reason Nagy doesn't want to take his toy fully out of the box yet.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:18 am The Bears defense is a matchup nightmare for this offense. Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
I agree. The only two games Fields one were games where they ran 188+ yards each game. Good luck doing that on us.MJW wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 1:37 amThere are no "trap games' in Tom Brady's Tampa, I don't think. I feel like at least 1 person has called each of our last 3 games a trap game.
As for this specific game, this is a team that beat us last year in a game where Brady embarrassed himself by forgetting the down.
They're also an inferior opponent playing a rookie quarterback.
This should be a "cleat on neck" game. Should be.

“Joe’s learning how to play a spy,” Arians said with some excitement in his voice. “We’ve got a bunch of athletic quarterbacks coming up [on the schedule] and with his athleticism and speed he’s a great spy guy. Plus he’s so tall he can jump up, and he can chase them. It’s a nice package to have Shap, JPP and Joe all in the game at the same time.” - Joebucsfan

Also, is it common for someone still in concussion protocol to be listed as full participant at practice?

All this means is he's working on this part of his game. A lot goes into spying mobile QBs. JTS won't be exclusively spying on Fields. But it will be part of his responsibilities as the season progresses and we play mobile QBs.

Yes. Most NFL practices in-season are glorified walk-throughs with minimal contact. What it means is he hasn't been evaluated by the independent neurologist quite yet or he has and has yet to pass the protocol tests. I believe there is a tweet about this.
Edit: Here's the tweet.

I hope Johnson gets 5/6 catches. Even the little fella should get a couple.
Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
Spread seems right to me. Get a couple TD lead early and let Fields chase Brady. Take away the run per the usual.

Yea it looks like both teams will be rolling out some backups. We already knew Gronk, LVD & Sherm would be out. But OJ & AB are also major questionmarks. AB hasn't even practiced this week. Bears have multiple key guys hurt.
At least we get AWJ back but man. Injuries are definitely a thing for this years Bucs team.

Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
Injuries or not we should still win this game. We have the better QB and are better in damn near every other area. We may not dismantle the Bears like we would if Brown and OJ played, but we should still be in control from whistle to whistle.
Re: **Bears @ Bucs Discussion**
6-1? 5-2? I like 6-1 way better going into the Saints.
Evans should get his. They ran the ball well last week against GB, people abandon the run against us.
If you said we were going to be 6-1/5-2 with the top two corners on IR in preseason, would you believe yourself?
