The LeBooger McFarCoy Award
We'll never, ever top what Tony Dungy did. He gave Edgerrin James a Superbowl Ring for the 2006 Colts team. James left the Colts before the season to play for the Cardinals. Dungy gave him the ring anyway. I'm sure the guys actually on the roster loved that.
By the same token of reasoning, Warrick Dunn should've gotten a ring for the 2002 Bucs.

We need Gronk as much for what he brings to the team chemistry as what he brings on the field. Anyone who's ever watched an 80s action movie knows the team needs a big dumb wisecracking dude.

I don't anticipate him becoming a MENSA member but believe (hope) he's smarter than the clips we see of him being a big goof.
On the first point, I've heard he hasn't spent a dime of his NFL earnings. He lives off his endorsement money and banks the rest. According to the interwebs, he makes about $8 mil a year on endorsements, and much of that he invests.

On the second point, you're almost certainly right. But I'm willing to respect the role he's decided to play. FWIW, I'm sure there are some genuinely dumb players, but not many. Good luck consuming, digesting, and performing a 500 page playbook, complete with countless on the fly adjustments and audible, if you're an idiot.

Steve Wilks sucked, and he sounds like a bitter jackass here.
WTF is a "leash?" You had the worst record in the NFL. Some coaches survive that. You were a bizarre hire as it was. Next time don't lose the most games in the NFL if you want more leash.
Kliff Kingsbury kind of sucks and I'm dubious his brand of football will ever win besides September and October.
With the exception of stealing D-Hop from an idiot, Steve Keim seems to not be a great GM now that BA isn't coaching his picks anymore.
Kyler Murray is overrated.
If there's ever NFL contraction, the Cardinals should be the 2nd team gone after the Jaguars.

I don't think he's dumb. I think he just likes having fun. Still, I get your point and agree that he brings more to a team than just Xs and Os.

You're correct on both counts. He doesn't spend his salary, and he is pretty intelligent.

Gronk is definitely playing a bit and that bit has made him marketable as hell. He is a smart guy who leaned into the “big, dumb lovable goof” role instead of being offended by it.

His value as a football player doesn't diminish his value as a human. The death of a young person is nearly always a tragedy. I find your lack of basic human empathy disturbing.

Very much so. Playing the role of the board curmudgeon is fine, but this is simply…disturbing at best.

Seems like Meyer might literally be the most hated dude (among actual football fans) in or around football. That's quite an accomplishment. Gators fans hate him. Gators rivals hate him. Ohio State fans hate him. Ohio State rivals hate him. Jaguars fans hate him. NFL talking heads hate him. His own players hate him. And it's not the kind of "I hate Tom Brady he wins everything" hate. People really hate this fucking guy.

I've met A LOT of football coaches over the years. Many of them are the same dude - arrogant, exhausted, a bit on edge, very little interest in anything unrelated to their immediate job goals. Urban Meyer must really, really be next level to have this many people hate his ass.

Total fraud.

I'm sure he'll find Jesus or go on some apology tour to try and find some poor AD foolish enough to exploit again.

So, how does this work?
XFL announces partnership with NFL Alumni Academy to scout, train potential players for XFL's 2023 season

If someone is in practice and returns 4 kickoffs for TD's, is he a free agent with choice to go after whatever NFL team wants him?

Does the NFL team have to give a bump of cash to the XFL team for giving him up?

In regard to the draft bible's bigboard - could they have made it less friendly to view?

Do they do that mess on purpose?

3rd highest paid. Herbert is on a rookie deal and has been crowned a little too early for my liking. Wake me up when his team makes the playoffs.

So he'll make more than Rodgers per year for the next 3 years, but I doubt this gets the same criticism that he destroyed his team because he's only above average instead of great.

These contracts are going to get more ridiculous after next year when the cap shoots up 25-30 million.

Uhhh no. You either don't know Rodgers deal or you don't math well. Rodgers signed for 3yrs/$150mil. That's $50mil/year. Carr signed for a shade over $40mil/year.

I'm referring to cap hit, the way they structured it:

Rodgers:

2022- 28.5mm
2023- 31.6mm
2024- 40.7mm
2025-59.3mm (16 mm in dead cap if cut)
2026- 53.4mm (8 mm in dead cap if cut)

From what the speculation is on Carr's contract he'll have a higher cap hit for the next 3 years, as I stated in my post.

edit: I didn't do the math OTC and Sportstrac did
