Did he say so? Seemed to me he was surprised that the front office wasn't comfortable with him having the starting job.King Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 8:43 amInteresting. I assume Edwards felt he'd be gifted Whitehead's spot. Doesn't work that way.
Nvm this was in response to Adams being traded.

Pretty much this..MJW wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 1:07 am I understand the position the Pack were in. When Adams threatened to hold out the season, obviously they (and the people around the league) believed him, because that torpedoed his value. Then finding out it wasn't just about money, and maybe he didn't want to be in Wisky anymore...it's easy in a vacuum to feel like the Packers got ripped off (I do), but they likely did the best they could under those circumstances (though I would have held out for an affordable veteran maybe.)
Julio Jones to Packers?

Look at the time and date. Unless Edwards is the ultimate clairvoyant, he wouldn't have known that the Giants were releasing Logan Ryan last night. Let alone that the Bucs would sign him.whistlepig777 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 9:33 amDid he say so? Ahh! You're right!
St. Peter!
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
This staff doesn't hand anything to anyone and I think it's something the locker room respects. Ryan and Edwards will both earn their PT, plenty for both to do anyway.

I would like it entered into the record that I got Bootz to admit he was wrong about something.
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Davante Adams' agent confirmed that the Packers were offering more money than the Raiders, but that it was Adams' "lifelong dream" to play for the Raiders.
It was assumed in some quarters that the initial leaks that Green Bay was offering more money than Vegas was Packers damage control, but it is harder to refute when the player's agent confirms it. Adams' reasons for leaving Green Bay will probably be a topic of local obsession for months to come, but it really could be as simple as wanting to play for his childhood rooting interest with his college quarterback Derek Carr. In barely-noticed comments from last summer, Adams said it would be a "dream" to play with Carr. To the Packers' horror, it has come true.

Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Baker Mayfield to Panthers?
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
I mean I feel bad for Panthers fan,Matthew Stafford and Deshaun Watson not interested to play for them
So they probably settle for Baker Mayfield or draft pick Kenny Pickett
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
The Logan Ryan signing is huge. Not sure how expensive he is, but grabbing him shores up a huge need.
Experienced veteran in the secondary, can play corner and safety. He can be on the field in three safety packages. He can play inside, outside, he can blitz, he's a fantastic tackler.
Homerun signing. I wonder if Brady, his former teammate, helped in recruitment.

Although a rarity, it has been known to happen. In a galaxy far, far away....whistlepig777 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 10:07 am I would like it entered into the record that I got Bootz to admit he was wrong about something.

Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Honestly I like this signing more than the Gage signing. I've been a huge fan of Logan Ryan since he was at Rutgers. I wanted us to draft him since we had his college coach here. But instead we took Johnthan Banks (ewwww).Cheb wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:17 pm The Logan Ryan signing is huge. Not sure how expensive he is, but grabbing him shores up a huge need.

He still plays at a very high level and IMHO is an upgrade over Whitehead because of what he can bring in coverage.
I don't think he'll cost much. He had offsetting language in his Giants contract so he still gets $5mil from them. Likely the vet minimum.
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Julio to Tampa.. not really, just seeing some click bate stuff floating around saying TB is recruiting him. meh about it either way.
