Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Not sure where to put this, but this is unbelievable:
My only hope is that it’s sarcasmMeyer said he conducted a six-month deep dive on the NFL that included interviews with his former Florida and Ohio State players as well as a study of the salary cap. But multiple sources said Meyer was unfamiliar with star players around the league, including 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel, Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, a three-time NFL defensive player of the year.
“Who’s this 99 guy on the Rams?” Meyer asked one staffer during the season, according to a source. “I’m hearing he might be a problem for us.”

I could barely finish it. He’s such a piece of garbage.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Guess that's why my timeline yesterday was filled with snark about how much of a dumbass Meyer is. I was wondering what made it pop up again.

Living in Columbus, you’d hear rumblings about how he ruled with an iron fist and fear was his primary motivating tool. Not how it works in the NFL.Primeminister wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 11:49 amIt’s wild now to look back and realize how highly thought of he was.

I laughed out loud that he told some NFL players that if he cut them they wouldn’t be able to get anything better than a $15 McDonalds job. Dude is an asshole living in his own dictatorial fantasy.Snake wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 11:51 amLiving in Columbus, you’d hear rumblings about how he ruled with an iron fist and fear was his primary motivating tool. Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Incredible offseason so far. I literally little girl squealed when I saw the Brady news. I’m glad we got Davis, Jensen, CD, and Lenny back - production to cost for the latter, especially compared to many of the big name backs, was extremely good last season - when he was healthy.
I see DL and TE as our top needs at the moment, but nothing indicates we’re done signing free agents just yet. I’d still like to see Licht address RB, OL, Edge, and secondary depth, whether through the draft or some low-cost vets. Then again, that’s something that could be said during every offseason ever.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
We'll get our depth FA signings after the draft. DL will be solid if we can get Suh and Gholston back, which I don't think is crazy with how the chips are falling. TE I think we at least have Brate and I'm about 99% certain Gronk will be back as well. At that point we can pick up either a blocking TE in FA or draft a developmental guy that may be able to contribute some.

It seems like this board is much higher on Suh than I am. I think Suh needs to compete with a young DT for his playing time.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Ya looks like the whole squad gonna run it back once more. Am expecting Gronk news soon.
That all said, what are the big needs on the roster? Depth on both lines for sure… but really no holes at all. Bringing back Fournette and Davis and the signing Gage really addressed the major needs I anticipated. Guess we can just let the draft come to us and go BPA in round one?

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Been a while since I got to roll this one out.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
He was actually the one DL guy that I was hoping we bring back. He's not a star, but he's really solid in the role he's asked to do.

- Defensive end in base, tackle in nickel - Suh and Gholston are gone and we haven't done anything to replace them. There's gonna be alot of snaps to be had in the middle of the defense. Expect a draft pick in the top two rounds here, and maybe another one later in the draft.
- Tight end - Brate is the only tight end on the roster. Gronk may resign, he may not. Even if he does, we'd need another guy here. Expect a midround developmental guy.
- Left guard - Stinnie can do the job and probably be okay, but one could argue that we could upgrade with a high draft pick.
- Running back - Fournette is back and Vaughn has upside, but another young back with third down capability would help. This could be a midrounder.
There's others to be sure but those are roughly my top four.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Maybe it was a fake story and they pulled it.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
They still haven't been signed that says something.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
I’ve heard that all of Gronk, Suh, and Gholston are coming back. We'll see, obviously those are holes if they don’t. I’m also a Stinnie and believer and Vaughn truther so we’re pretty set.Cheb wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 7:09 pmAs of today:real bucs fan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 5:32 pm Ya looks like the whole squad gonna run it back once more. Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Gholston is the biggest one left (Gronk doesn’t count). Would love to get that done.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
I'm sure Will will be back. Then similar deals as last year to the rest.
Gronk would be amazing, don't kid yourselves. Suh would be nice too but I think they want to get younger and faster there.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
I think you're confusing Ndamukong Suh and Dominic Smith.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
In the story Suh was talking about how it was a testimony of how well he takes care of his body.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Gholston is coming back.
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Has JPP went full silence?
Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
My approach would of had us put JPP on IR the next day.Cheb wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 7:09 pmAs of today:real bucs fan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 5:32 pm Ya looks like the whole squad gonna run it back once more. Am expecting Gronk news soon.
