Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
I fully expect some real fuckery. The fact that they did this on Friday because Jones is Saturday is astounding. How many people tune in to watch Boxing at 8PM on a Friday? Competing with WWE too? Interesting. Netflix just invested in WWE.

The fun begins tonight!
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
I was certain until yesterday that this was going to be just another glorified exhibition a la Tyon/Jones Jr. type thing. But this is a sanctioned bout that will go on Tyson's record, and I just can't believe Iron Mike is going to putz around for 8 rds for a draw or lay down and lose with this poser that'll go on his official record. And then there's the whole Jake purposefully stepping on Tyson's foot and getting slapped in the face thing.
I think Mike is going to really fight in this one. The only question for me is will he carry Paul for the first few rounds so he gets paid. Because I think that would be mistake. Tyson may still have a lot of his speed and power, but he is still 58, and I don't think he can win if this goes past 5 rds. And I feel like Mike should know that. So I expect Tyson to feel things out for the first couple rds and then put this idiot away in the 3rd or 4th.
And I really don't understand anyone saying Jake Paul is a good fighter. He's a rank amateur. I watched his fight vs. Tommy Fury last night;
Jake Paul's only opening is that lunging jab. Most of the time he's not even looking when he throws it, so it's usually high and off-target. He misses a lot. His only other real attack is that looping right, which is also inaccurate. He connected solidly with it just a couple times. Mostly he just completely whiffed, once nearly throwing himself out of the ring. The only time he had Fury remotely in trouble was when Fury walked into a straight left.
He comes straight in; he doesn't seem to know how to work the angles at all. He doesn't seem to have any real combinations to speak of, other than that lunging jab followed by that looping overhand right. He threw a few body shots, but again, he didn't throw any combinations worth mentioning.
His defense is basically wrestling. Other than that, he just gets his hands up around his ears and looks at the floor. He doesn't even move his feet half the time; he just stands there blind waiting for Fury to hit him, then he reacts.
His footwork is amateurish. Often he's flatfooted, his movement is basic and not very quick. And again, he seems to only know how to go backwards and forwards.
He is tough; Fury is the far more gifted puncher, more of the technician, and should've knocked Paul out, imo. The fact that Paul survived without getting knocked down says something about his toughness, because he ate several dozen jabs and at least a dozen short uppercuts to the chin area and didn't go down once.
But if that's the extent of Paul's fighting ability, he could get knocked out in the first round. Even in the first 30 seconds. Tyson at his best was a technician; his accuracy was unnatural, along with his speed and his power in small spaces. Tyson also knows how to work all the angles. His defense was superb, and he was great and getting inside the reach of taller fighters and savaging the body. Tyson's combinations were multiple and brutally efficient.
But if Paul turtles up by putting his hands up around his ears and just stands there looking at the floor more than a couple times, Tyson will knock him out right there with a nasty combo of body shots and/or that patented uppercut.
I think Paul's only chance is to spend the first 6 rounds running away, because he doesn't have the defense to stand in the center of the ring with Tyson. He's going to have to use his youth to stay away from Tyson until he gets tired and slows way down.
But if he tries to stand in the middle of the ring and fight the way he fought Tommy Fury, he's going to the hospital.
I also watched the first few rounds of his fight with Silva. Same strategy, same blind jabs and looping right.
The only way I see Tyson losing this fight is if that ulcer is still an issue and Paul lands a gut shot that exacerbates it. Otherwise, the only way Tyson loses this fight before the 5th round is if the fix is in.

$$$ on Tyson
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Mike looks slow as shit on the pads. His reaction time is also gone. He’s not old, he’s ancient. I don’t think Paul is anything better than a high-level amateur, but he’s still big, juiced to the gills, and he’s young and can throw a powerful straight.
I think Mike is getting knocked the fuck out

Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
We'll see. If it's for real, I can't bet against Tyson. Too much skill/experience/power. He put a sparring partner in the hospital last week with one punch. And broke one of those double-ended speed balls.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Well, if nothing else, the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders are still smokin'. Hopefully these undercard fights will be worth watching.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Tyson-Paul’s fight is scheduled to start at 11 right?
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Stream keeps buffering. Missed the entire 4th rd.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Welp, I got sound, but freeze frame. Sucks, because Goyat looked good before this crap happened.
And now no sound either.

Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
switched to methstreams, clearer and smoother. Go figure Netflix would eff this up.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
So far sounds like the fight will start on time
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Yeah, I think. Hard to be 100% confident with these things, but right now it looks like Tyson's fight will start close to on time.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Tyson vs. Paul should start right after the girl fight. So, a little over an hour.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
These cards last too long. Same for the UFC. I don’t wanna be up until 1 AM. EST will get ya

Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
What the FUCK Netflix?!?! Get your act together!
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Might try sportsurge.club, one of the gold rated ones. THat's what I had to do. Been clearer and smoother, fwiw.

Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
That women’s fight was damn good although the judges got it wrong.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
I’m surprised the fight last that long.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Do you agree with the score? I thought they’re pretty even.

Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Even?? Tyson looked every bit of 58. Didn't move worth a damn.
Most hated man in America.
Re: Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
Yeah, Jake Paul can't knock him out. if Tyson barely moved.

This is why I never spend a dime on Paul fights. I don't think they are rigged but they might as well be. They always over promise and under deliver.

One of my daughters watched it. She said it was a joke...garbage. I haven't seen any of it.

Don't tread on me
