Julio is done.
I would take “done” JJ over 99% of #4-#5 WRs
You must not have watched any Titans games last year. Julio sulked all the time on their sideline when AJ Brown was getting the share of the targets. Plus he couldn't stay healthy. No WAY IN HELL he's coming here to be a #4 or #5.
Love Julio, he was an elite player. But he still thinks he is an elite player. He'll go somewhere that will allow him to shine.
When he played, he still looked pretty good out there. A lot of bad balls thrown his way and a lot of missed open routes according to my Titans fan friend.
Probably not a great comparison, but I remember when Moss was “done” in Oakland. Similar, kinda not similar, because Moss just turned 30 when the trade happened and JJ just turned 33 last month. I’d still bet on the talent and track record over a guy like Cyril easily.
Overall, it’s a matter of health. He’s been battling a hamstring. If there’s any injury that will make a WR look finished, it’s a hammy. If the hammy is behind him, Tom will put him in a position to dominate again.
And as Bootz said, how good a soldier is he? We have a long pecking order for one ball.

I'm happy for AJ Brown though. His college tape reminded me of Andre Johnson and while I don't know if there's a statistical comparison between the two, but I was confident that he was going to be a good pro, which he is.

@Doctor Allen Robinson just reset the wr market. Three years, 46.5M…..total, 15.5m AAV. Guess that 25m/year number is a little off, huh?
Wow. Either teams no longer view him as a #1 WR after a healthy but down year on the Franchise Tag (the exact cautionary tale Godwin wants to avoid) or he is fed up with losers and took a heavy discount to ring chase.
Had he signed this deal with a cap rich team like the Jags or Fins I'd say it was the former, but given its with the cash strapped champs I'm gonna day the latter.

It couldn’t possibly be that “the market” is not 25m/year, no?

I mean perhaps? But given #1 WRs rarely hit the market and get pressuted into franchise tag extentions its hard to say what the real bag for a #1 is right now.
But with dudes like Kirk and Williams knocking down $20M/year, gotta think a true bag chasing free agent would land a haul. We'll likely have to wait until next year to see since the only one to actually hit the market this year was ARob and he decided to ring chase instead.

From what I’ve read, ghosting from the player is the norm and that goes down to the college level. I’m sure the agent sends GMs the “thanks, but no thanks” text 45 seconds before he leaks the news to Schefter.

If you're one of those top tier free agents, what are the chances that GM is still working there when your contract is up again?

That surprises me. In business "they" always talk about not burning bridges as you never know who'll you run into down the road. And the NFL is an infinitely smaller circle.
But then again, we're talking about the top 1% of the 1%. Guess they're used to being sucked off and pretty much always landing on their feet
Watching Hard Knocks, you always expect some dudes to freak the hell out when they're cut. But no. You know the agents are teaching them how to handle that situation. Shake the hand, thank for the opportunity, tell them what a great experience it was, grab your backpack, GTFO.
I guess when you have the power in the relationship, you don't bother with such courtesy.
"So let's get to the point
Let's roll another joint
And let's head on down the road
There's somewhere I got to go..."

What if Watson goes to NO. Where does eat a w go?
The local gym with a social media team to record him doing drop backs in the shallow end of the pool hoping someone's like "oh shit we need to sign this guy NOW"
