Maybe E2 will have #1 potential after all. He's a beast and I'm glad we got him.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
The New Union will correct that mistake.

He’s going to feast with Mike Evans drawing primary coverage and doubled up much of the time.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 10:35 pm Maybe E2 will have #1 potential after all. He's a beast and I'm glad we got him.
Look at this play:
Looks like hybrid coverage? EE getting man and the inside guys in zone. Regardless, the safety comes up to assume Mike.
Gonna be like that all season.

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
Egbuka looks like a slightly more physical version of Jalen McMillan. Now McMillan is an amazing separator in his own right, so I hope people don't see this as a slight.

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
There's a not so distant future where Egbuka and McMillan are #1 and #2.
We could do a lot worse. Hell, there's several teams that would drool over that pairing today.
My music is better than yours

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
my Gosh, hopefully the O line stays healthy, but Godwin, EE, and Evans are going to be a problem. I think Tez has a say soon
Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
That's the hope, and yet more.
Imagine you're the opposing defense. You see that the Bucs are huddling in 10 personnel (1 running back, 0 tight ends). To get granular, the QB is Baker, the OL is what it is... and we have Bucky, Evans, Godwin, E2, and McMillan in there.
Oh boy.
Do you stay in nickel and either stay in zone or cover one one of those receivers in man with a linebacker or safety? If you do, Baker will dice you up with all those precision receivers.
Maybe you stay in nickel because that's your best 11, and you have no confidence in your dimeback; fine, we cut you up all day in the passing game at short, intermediate, and long range.
And what are you gonna do with your safeties? If you have any lick of sense, you are going to push them way the fuck back, afraid of what will happen if any of our top receiving talents busts your coverage over the top without safety help, because any of those four guys can burn you for 6 points.
Do you insert your dime package, matching speed for speed, and hoping for the best? Feel free.
But now look; you have an undermanned five man box, and Bucky has space to run.
Oh my. Oh my.
Good luck.

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
Posted it in another thread, but they'd run the play two times prior. They knew Bates was going to bite on Evans' route and leave Egbuka one-on-one. Griz called it to go to Egbuka and Mayfield put the ball right on the money with Egbuka doing an awesome job of getting his hands up late to not give the corner time to react. Great route by Egbuka and Evans, great pass by Mayfield and a great call by Griz to win the game.Snake wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 10:55 pmHe’s going to feast with Mike Evans drawing primary coverage and doubled up much of the time.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 10:35 pm Maybe E2 will have #1 potential after all. It must be the angle of the camera because according to their stats Evans is only 2 inches taller than EgbukaPrimeminister wrote: ↑Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:26 amThere is a reason the players call him Big MikeBabeinbucland wrote: ↑Sun Sep 07, 2025 8:31 pm I am a little surprised how small he looks next to Evans

How many TDs are you going to score on your debut, Emeka?

Good interview with Egbuka here:
Kid's very grounded and seems very mature for his age.

The question will be how does E2 perform when he does not have Mike drawing coverage.

Um. OK.
Your answer does not appear to answer the question about E2. It seems more about OTHERS on the team.

He caught that one hander over Sauce ... I think he'll be fine.

I was watching the Kay Adams interview with Emeka.
Someone in the comment wrote this: "He’s got the larry Fitzgerald demeanor, cerebral and professional on and off the field"
That is a great comp in my opinion.

Except Fitz was a few inches taller. He was unstoppable in his prime. I watched him perform against the Eagles in the 2008 NFCCG and he was all world. I was like "Memo to the NFL, cover the guy with the two 1's on his jersey"Bahamian:bucfan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 2:21 pm I was watching the Kay Adams interview with Emeka.

It's been 3 games. 3. Let's cool it before we go comping the kid to an all time great.

Relax. There’s nothing wrong with praising the young man. No one here is trying to bestow WR godhood on the guy.
And there is nothing wrong with mentioning greats when talking about him. We all know he has a long, long way to go before he’s ready for HoF talk.

Welp, a first round pick should be able to step in and start from day one.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 5:15 pmIf you don’t perform right away you’re trash. If you do perform right away let’s wait and see.

More accurately, if you dont perform right away, we're just gonna ignore it and say you're playing well. And if you do, well anything other than calling you the best in the league makes you a hater.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 5:15 pmIf you don’t perform right away you’re trash. Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
This is the kind of disingenuous stuff I’m talking about. Exactly who here has said he’s the best in the league? If you answer, no one, then you’d be correct. Any other answer is just trying to argue for argument sake.Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 6:06 pmMore accurately, if you dont perform right away, we're just gonna ignore it and say you're playing well. You’re the hater, pal. You trash anyone who doesn’t perform immediately. Now this guy does and you’re all “pump the breaks.”Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Sep 26, 2025 6:06 pmMore accurately, if you dont perform right away, we're just gonna ignore it and say you're playing well. Egbuka has been great. The “comp” was his football intelligence and demeanor.

Re: Welcome to Tampa, Emeka Egbuka
E2 is a fine example of the Licht focus on character in the draft. Remember when he talked about how he targets team captains?
We have so many talented WRs and not a diva in the room. That still staggers he when I think about it. Every time I see E2 talking, he always comes across as the kind of guy you'd want you daughter to marry.
