"I really wanna see Jared Goff in Primetime!"
Yea, that doesn't pass the smell test.

I can’t believe the season is over
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I can't believe this defensive coaching staff looked themselves in the mirror and said:

And Bowles is over here:

That’s what she said.

Yeah, it’s going to be a boring month with the upcoming Daytona racing, but free agency and the draft are coming up soon before we know it lol

D’oh
The Steelers are the current betting favorites to acquire Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers, per @draftkings.
Rodgers, 41, will be seeking a new team if he returns for the 2025 season, and Pittsburgh could be a landing spot.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I could see that ... Not sure there's a better team out there who's a QB away from competing ...
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Watched Bryce Young being interviewed by Gruden. Such a likeable young fella. Sucks that he's a QB for the Panthers. He's younger than Jayden Daniels and Michael Penix by a year. His skillset puts a hard ceiling on how far he can go, but his floor is high and he can be managed to be effective like Tua.

We all see them. Looks like we don't have the cap room to do anything about it though.Primeminister wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 11:16 pm Let’s hope Licht and Bowles see the holes that need to be filled this offseason.

The dead cap hit has to be through the roof. He just got paid, right?

Yeah.. that’s a weird one. Good for the Steelers? His dead cap hit is $133M.
And Lawrence has a full no trade clause. Who writes this shit?

The San Francisco 49ers could reportedly pay QB Brock Purdy somewhere in the range of $55 to $60 million per year.
After three seasons on a rookie deal, Purdy is finally eligible for a contract extension and is reportedly expected to become one of the league's highest-paid QBs.

I’d be surprised. Why extend him now? Will he hold out? I’d make him play. If he’s like, nah. I’d just sign Rodgers.

Found this interesting. Shanahan is only 2 years older than Canales…
McVay is still the 5th youngest HC in the NFL.

Tomlin is the current longest tenured HC and he's 10 years younger than John Harbaugh, who's the 2nd longest tenured HC.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
No idea, but Tomlin's record is remarkable. Not a single losing record.
No matter the QB, the OC, the DC, position coaches ... no matter what.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Tomlin is a good coach, but the team’s offense performance has been subpar for the past four years.
They need a freaking quarterback. They haven't found one since Big Ben retired.
2022 Kenny Pickett (12) / Mitchell Trubisky (5) [90]
2023 Kenny Pickett (12) / Mason Rudolph (3) / Mitchell Trubisky (2) Mason Rudolph (0–1) [91]
2024 Russell Wilson (11) / Justin Fields (6)
shitty QBS

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Sometimes there are certain teams that just have your number no matter the record and vice versa. We have theirs. So while yeah, we might have lost but they never seem to play well against us. I would not have been surprised we go up there and upset.__Chef__ wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:15 pmI could see Evans & Bucky making a game of it, but yeah they'd need to keep up with that offense ... we know this D wouldn't stop them.Primeminister wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:08 pm
We’d lose by 20+. Baker would get happy feet and it would be downhill from there.
And what Vea and our DL did to their OL week 4 would have been in their head.
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
@Bootz I was just thinking about this again, this morning.
Is Tomlin the luckiest coach in the world?
To consistently draft and sign guys who are "that guy" and their backups are "that guy" ... ensuring not a single losing season for nearly 20 straight years no matter the injury or FA loss is pretty remarkable, right?
Is it all due to his GM, or does his coaching somehow make a difference?

There is definitely an element of luck in there for him.__Chef__ wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 2:13 pm@Bootz I was just thinking about this again, this morning.
