kaimaru wrote: Fri Aug 19, 2022 8:43 pm I will say this about the Allen debate: @King Bootz has Lamar Jackson as the best, or if not the best, top 3 certainly. Comparing raw stats between them is useless. However, percentages do compare them. I used their stats the last two years from Pro Football Reference.

Allen 66.1% COMP% 6.0% TD% 2.1% INT% 7.3 YPA 11.1 YPC SK% 4.3% Rush YPA 5.3 Total offense 10135
Jackson 64.4% COMP% 5.5% TD% 2.9% INT% 7.4 YPA 11.5 YPC SK% 8.8% Rush YPA 6.1 Total offense 7411

Even if we use total yards like points in fantasy football where passing yards are worth only 40% of rushing yards:

Allen Total offense 4764.4
Jackson Total offense 4027.6

That to me clearly shows he deserves to be in top 3 discussion.

PS: This was limited to regular season stats only.
Lies. You'll never find me saying Lamar Jackson is top 5, let alone top 3 or best in the game.

Well you're gushing on him his pro bowl year and last year seemed that way. If not, who are your top 3?

Anybody want to get down on that? I say do it, Dom.
We are $55 million over the cap next season as it stands today. We couldn't afford avocado toast, much less Lamar Jackson.

Top, Brady Mahomes Rodgers. Top 5, include Wilson & Watson.

Gushing over him? He's a great player. He wins a lot of football games. Even won an MVP award. Why wouldn't that excite a football fan?

It's interesting that they were able to diagnose Stinnie in less than 24 hours. But here we are 3+ weeks and they somehow still don't know what the issue is with Jensen? I just hope this isn't another David Baktiari situation where he's out for damn near 2 years.

I don't think they were trying for favorable situations with play calling by design.

Isnt Jensen waiting to decide on an operation while Stinnie prolly has already had his done.

We'll see. He's having more test tomorrow. But he was walking fine after the game.

Depending on the way the ligament tears you can easily walk normally after sustaining an ACL injury. Also, there's nothing dirty about that block. The angle was unfortunate but every running back who does pass protection has made that block at some point. People trying to categorize this like a chop block or a crackback block where the defensive player is either completely unaware of the incoming offensive player (crackback) or the cut block is done on a defensive player who is already engaged with an offensive player. Cut blocks by running backs on pass rushers who are on a free path to the quarterback are absolutely not dirty.

Further tests today will confirm if he suffered a major injury or not. He seems to think he's fine as @Snake indicated.

I'm not saying he's hurt, just that being able to walk normally isn't a good indicator of whether or not he tore his ACL.

I think Brady goes out there and sets his record for single season passing yards, then retires.

Depleted O-line, stacked WR corps, pass catching RBs.

Perfect storm for pass pass pass every game.

Lolol

For Week 2 of the preseason, the most impressive punt of the weekend definitely went to Blake Gillikin, who smashed an 81-yard punt during New Orleans' 20-10 loss to Green Bay on Friday night.

Apparently, someone at NFL headquarters took notice of Gilikin's monstrous punt, because less than 36 hours after the kick, he received a text from the league demanding that he show up for a "random" drug test.

The text, which was sent at 7:16 a.m. on Sunday, gave Gilikin roughly three hours to get to the facility for the drug test.

"You were selected for a random in season drug test," the text said. "This test will take place today, Aug. 21, 2022, at the facility. The test should be completed before team meeting at 10 a.m."
I said what I said

If Trask looks like rookie Tua at any point, it would be a miracle.

I guess this thread is as good as any for this:

Why in the hell wasn't Don Coryell enshrined in Canton like 30 freakin years ago?
