When did a knee or elbow hit the ground. That is still up to the refs to determine. A chip in the ball doesn't change that.
There is zero reason we should have any ambiguity behind the distance a ball has moved in regards to a first down or a TD. We should know definitively whether Josh Allen made it past the line or not. We should know definitively if the ball crossed the goal line or not. There should be zero discussion on whether the refs rigged the game because we as viewers should be certain that the ball did or did not cross. It's absolutely absurd that we allow it to go on like this.

The first down markers form a line, ball detected to cross this line at all makes the down markers emit a green light. The refs know, the viewers know. EVERYBODY knows that its a first down. Same for a touchdown.

The refs can call catches and penalties. Spot of the ball in a pile at the goal line? They're just guessing. It's ridiculous.

Yes. I’ve seen local businesses work out solutions for far less complicated situations. An entity like the NFL can solve this very easily and it will not create a barrier to game flow.

On the contrary, it will improve game flow.

Though, like baseball, you have purists who believe that the inherent drama in the imperfection of the game makes for a more engaging product. I’m not having that conversation tho.

Remember, some of you thought I was an idiot to believe that Garrett Wilson wanted to be traded? Especially you, Graham.

He’ll look good in the Bucs uniform.

Here it is.

You suggested he was a trade deadline target. I definitely didn’t call you an idiot.

If we play to use a pick on a WR early, I'd definitely use one to trade for Wilson.

Yup
Sam Darnold's "poor play" over the Minnesota Vikings' final two games of the season, including during the WildCard loss to the Los Angeles Rams, "scared" teams that may have otherwise considered signing him.

The NFL is considering using an electronic system to measure first downs starting in the 2025 season:

"The system, which the NFL has tested in game conditions in recent seasons, would involve the football being spotted manually by the on-field officials before the electronic system would determine whether that spot resulted in a first down."

When he retires, Josh Allen's legacy is going to be he lost games to Patrick Mahomes so the league made rule changes for him.

What good does that do? It basically eliminates the “chain gang,” but it doesn’t help if they just manually spot it wrong. Which is what people are arguing they did in this particular case.

Long article detailing the extent the saints colluded with the pedophiles that call themselves Catholics to cover up their pedophile lifestyle .

Would have posted it in the religion forum, but we have other documented proof of the degeneracy intrinsic to Christianity there that doesn't involve the NFL

Biggest opportunity our team has had since Tom Brady. That is the BIGGEST hole on our team, one of the most important positions in football, and we can put an elite player there

100% I could see Washington make a serious run at him. Holy hell, you add him to that line with Payne and Allen? That's scary. Though I do expect they'd throw one of them in as a trade piece. It'll probably be Allen because he's older and they drafted Newton last year.

If this is really the competition, we have a legit shot at landing him. He'd make the biggest improvement to an already competitive playoff team.

My guess is Washington has the best odds for Myles Garrett

Superstar QB on rookie contract and not alot of committed money in other stars.

Ownership group that will want to make a splash like this

Was their rush a weak link?

If not, hard to see a franchise like that on the upswing giving up draft capital for a win-now player.

That's.... Just fucking sad for Garrett.

Myles Garrett and Megatron are arguably the two most wasted athletic unicorns in all of organized sports. They should each multiple Rings but I'm not even sure they have more than a single playoff win combined, let alone sniffed a SB.

Regardless of where he goes, I hope he at least makes it to the big show. He deserves it.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.

Their defense was a weak link for them. Really bad run D. Pass D wasn't much better. Their offense covered up a lot of those problems because they possessed the ball so much and barely turned it over.
