Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
I like Perriman. He has some juice. See if he’ll sign for cheap.

Need the number, but that’s a solid signing.

Maye was 1st team All American in college which propelled him to being the 39th overall pick. I'm not sure what you mean by "wasn't all that great at Florida".King Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 1:38 pmI hope not. Maye wasn't that good under Bowles but it was the best he ever played. I'm surprised you're mentioning him. He wasn't all that great at Florida either. I think Bowles would say no because he's seen what he can do.Dread wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 1:12 pm One name to keep on eye at Safety is Marcus Maye.
With the dust starting to settle in free agency at the safety position (Reid-Chiefs, Williams-Ravens) I think we'll see Honey Badger go to either the Saints or Jets.
Whitehead and Maye would be next.
If the Bucs can't work out a deal with Whitehead, and the more time that passess the better imo since it usually means the market is coming down, I could see the Bucs having interest in Maye.
He was drafted in the early 2nd round by Bowles and played really well for the Jets under Bowles.
Vet safety route, Tyrann Mathieu. Not sure he'd cost a ton but he would be an amazing addition to the defensive backfield.
I'm not suggesting the Bucs make him a priority, but rather that in the scenario that Honey Badger and Whitehead sign elsewhere b/c they are too expensive then Marcus Maye would make sense if the price is right given the familiarity he has w/ Bowles.
The Jets also chose to franchise tag Maye after 2020, teams don't usually franchise players who they don't want.
I can understand you don't think much of him as a player.

Gage is a nice player. He’s a hell of a #3.

So what you're saying is Snake is out on Badgerwhistlepig777 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:05 pm Badger got his shot in the league from BA who wasn't concerned about him being a "thug".
Not surprised about this rumor, but it doesn't mean AB is wanting him now. We'll see.

The Jets have agreed to terms with former Bucs S Jordan Whitehead, sources tell @espn. Another proven starter for the secondary. #Jets

I loved Whitehead, but it made no sense to spend on him when we already have Mike Edwards to take his job and does just fine.

We just got Shaq Mason in a trade with the Patriots. Good guy Belichick helping Brady out.

What’s the chance for Honey Badger here?
0-50-100?

With the addition of Shaq Mason, we are $22 million over the cap per Spotrac. We have to be under it by tomorrow afternoon.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 5:33 pmThe question is do you roll with Edwards or try to sign Honey Badger?Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 4:00 pm I loved Whitehead, but it made no sense to spend on him when we already have Mike Edwards to take his job and does just fine.
I think it's safe to say that we aren't going to be spending big money on free agents, but then again I would have said the same before adding Gage and Mason, so what do I know.
