Right before he does he offers Lamar $300M guaranteed.

The Browns officially announced the signing of veteran receiver Marquise Goodwin on Friday.
The deal was originally reported as complete on March 24. That came at the end of a week that started with Goodwin spending two days visiting with the team, but departing without a deal.

They've built a very interesting group of receivers there to work with Watson:Buc2 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2023 3:21 pm The Browns officially announced the signing of veteran receiver Marquise Goodwin on Friday.

- Amari Cooper, the dictionary definition of "I'm thrilled he's my #2, but I'm looking to upgrade if he's my #1."
- David Bell, a good route runner with great hands who isn't that explosive, but could be useful underneath.
- Jakeem Grant, a blur of midget of a blur.
- Elijah Moore, who if he's over his tantrum, has the chops to be an elite slot weapon.
- Donovan Peoples Jones, who has produced when called upon.
- Anthony Schwartz, who has elite deep speed but may or may not figure out how to use it.
And now Goodwin, another speed merchant who has been productive in the league.
They obviously need someone to step up. Preferably for them someone who can play outside opposite Cooper. But there's potential there.
I would not be shocked if they tried to package the picks they have left (their first pick is #74) to move up for a wideout they love who falls a bit.

There are plenty of Buc fans who grew up on a farm or a ranch who cleaned out the stalls. Those fans know their shit!
And lets not forget the "Environmental Engineers who work at waste treatment facilities. They are experts on shit.

Told y'all Hurts was next in line.
Smart on the Eagles to not wait. QB prices only go on one direction.

What a difference a year makes. He looked lost against us in the 2021 playoffs.

Yes, it's crazy that an NFL player actually improved.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 12:01 pm What a difference a year makes. He looked lost against us in the 2021 playoffs.
Burrow is next in line to get paid. Let's hope Mike Brown isn't still a cheap ass.

Did I say it was crazy that he improved? Whole lot of people around here acting like Baker can't play better or get back to his 2020 levels at minimum though.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 12:04 pmYes, it's crazy that an NFL player actually improved.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 12:01 pm What a difference a year makes. Watching Trask in his press conference today, he certainly doesn't have much personality. Dude has all of the charisma of a cantaloupe.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Great move by Hurts.
But we literally are piling on Lamar for "one good year"... We've seen guys like Cam and Ryan go off for a year and that be their peak too.
Not predicting that for Hurts but the NFL has a way of punching back. Fantastic job grabbing his bag now. Lamar should take notes.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Who's dumb enough to make this point? If Lamar Jackson has only had 1 good year then guys like Herbert, Tua, Murray, Allen, haven't had any.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Why are you so hot and heavy for Lamar Jackson? He's good, but certainly not great. Regardless of anyone's opinion about him, including mine, our thoughts don't amount to a hill of beans. So, you have no need to defend him so vehemently every time someone in here says something even slightly uncomplimentary about him. Just asking so don't go all Bootz on me because I won't respond to that.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Trask is more mobile than people think, but not exactly Canales style mobile. But maybe. He'll have every chance to win the job. If he goes 11/13 199 yards and a TD to Bakers 5/9, I don't think we're going to force things where they shouldn't go.Doctor wrote: ↑Fri Apr 14, 2023 7:46 pm Trask was a great fit and prospect for the Arians offense. We're no longer running that.
You need to adapt to the changing landscape. He'll have every chance to show his new value in this new regime. But it's stupid to hold the future hostage to the past just to "justify a pick".
The goal should be to find the right QB for this regime, not save face or appease value and hindsight draft groupies.
But on the surface, the offense does seem to lend itself more for to the talents and skillsets that made Baker a top pick. Talent wise I don't think it's hard to argue Baker.
It's going to come down to processing and mastering the offense. We could still draft a guy too. Hooker in the second, sitting a year behind Baker in a Canales offense could be something. There are a lot of stones to overturn here.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Because he is great, despite your opinion here. This had more to do though with this fictional story that he's only had 1 good year.Buc2 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:40 amWhy are you so hot and heavy for Lamar Jackson? Drafting a 2nd round QB to ride the bench is a waste of a pick, haven't you heard?Doctor wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:40 amTrask is more mobile than people think, but not exactly Canales style mobile. Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Trask has a relative athletic score in the bottom half of all QBs graded from 1987-2021. It was much better than Brady, though, so maybe he has elite pocket movement like TB.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Sorry it’s not the Buccaneers
The 49ers have received trade inquiries for QB Trey Lance, per @nflnetwork.
A trade isn’t considered imminent, but there are several teams interested in acquiring Lance.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I mean yeah, 6th round pick isn’t a bad investment on a physically talented young QB who is smelling like a bust and doesn’t have a clear path to starting. Most 6ths don’t amount to shit anyways.
But, 49ers eat a decent chunk of cap by trading him though. Not crazy high, but enough to make it a consideration.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
The QB position is such a wild shot. It's amazing to think that just two years ago so many GMs and FOs, including one we widely consider one of the smartest, were all in on Lance. Or all in on some other bust QB they didn't get a chance to draft, so they lived to draft another day. The same guy that draft Baker Mayfield drafted Patrick Mahomes.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I would happily trade a second rounder for Lance. I don't think that would get it done but it would be a cheap gamble.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Throw in D-White. I know the 49ers have zero needs there, but I can't help but think John Lynch would love to add a talent like that cheap. He could probably just use him as a nickel blitzer.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Considering the investment they made if the 49ers are trying to trade him why would we want him? If they're trading him for pennies on the dollar clearly they have realized they've made a big mistake and are trying to salvage something. Would be dumb of us to oblige.
