On NFL network they said some in the league think the salary cap could balloon to 250 million by 2024 when NFL Sunday ticket is re-negotiated, which would make that workable.
These are the kind of contracts we will see...and Mahomes (39.8 mm per year over the total contract) deal will end up being a bargain.
Browns and Texans still are finalizing official trade compensation for Deshaun Watson, but it is expected to include three first-round picks, a third-round pick and potentially a fifth-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.
For starters I couldn't for the life of me what the hell the Saints, Panthers, or Falcons could offer you as a QB that's better than that OL, Chubb/Hunt, and Cooper. Like... it was just so obvious.
Also it keeps a stud QB out of the division and keeps our rivals chasing their tails. Always for that.
Deshaun Watson gets a fully guaranteed 5 year $230M contract. That is $80M more than the previous record for fully guaranteed money at signing ($150M)
I like the player, but I probably wouldn’t have done this + the assets. I would bet he misses significant time during this contract. That’s my prediction. His play style will cost him sooner than later. Then again, I’m biased against rapists.
I hesitate to verbalize this but the way things have played out, the NFCS should be a cake walk this year. But it is the NFL and all that any given Sunday blah blah blah.

Flame away.
If he misses significant time it could break Cleveland. Not just the team but the city as well.

I'd agree with you.
I mean, the Saints have been historically good but they lost their HC and bleed more talent every season. The Falcons have Matty Ice, Kyle Pitts, and a six pack of beer. The Panthers scare no one. All of them wanted Watson because they have no faith in their QBs, and none of them could win him over because their rosters suck.
Assuming that Brady stays some semblance of healthy, winning the division is entirely doable. Not to say this could be the easiest division in football, but this could be the easiest division in football.

Feels good
Over on the Saints forums they are begging for ole Jameis now that Watson is out of the running.
