Add to this he said he would have signed with the Bucs if we had the money. And his fiance is Todd Bowles stepdaughter. If we are all in, then I wouldn't be surprised.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 8:53 pmBecause he played under Arians & Bowles his 1st 4 years in the league(2 under Bowles), he's a FA, our starting safety just signed with the Jets. The Falcons’ meeting with quarterback Deshaun Watson has come to an end, and the team has reportedly submitted a trade offer to the Texans, reports Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com.

It has to be completely for $$$ as that team has absolutely nothing really to work with on Offense or Defense.

What will we do with those Godwin savings

Tyrann Mathieu. There was mutual interest in 2019. Also reports are that we never offered a contract to Whitehead makes me think they had a plan.
Gronk will be back. He said he was just making Tommy sweat like he made Gronk sweat.

Evidently not much "savings" going on from Godwin's deal

Tidbit: Rams lost 5 free agents - won a Superbowl - and got 5 comp picks.
Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
On Spotrac I counted 17 free agent left and 12 are 30 or over - I wonder how many we move on from and how we replace them?

If he has not done it yet, it's gotta be Smith. I thought it was possible we'd trade him because of how much he makesSnake wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:40 pmWho else is getting restructured?King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:31 pm Evidently not much "savings" going on from Godwin's deal

I think Auman bit off more than he can chew with this post. Mason has to be counted as that was a trade. OTC.com has all of these contracts except Gage included and without Godwin's extension which saves about $14mil and Brate's restructure and has the Bucs $9mil+ over. So with Brate and Godwin they are currently under.King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 11:31 pm Evidently not much "savings" going on from Godwin's deal

Guys just are better off not answering that because there's so much to keep track of. You think $52 mil is "like $30 mil"?King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:30 pm It's also probably something like 2yrd/$30mil with a lot of fluff.

Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
2yr/$30mil was an arbitrary figure, basically to establish the fact that the $6yrs/$120mil was mostly fluff and not guaranteed. It wasn't meant to be an exact prediction. Just setting a precedence. Hence the words "probably something like".nybf wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 8:10 amYou think $52 mil is "like $30 mil"?King Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 7:30 pm It's also probably something like 2yrd/$30mil with a lot of fluff.
@Brazen331 understood it. I think most do too. The fact that you don't is not surprising but it's welcomed as it let's me know I was right here.
Any other questions?

52 mil is 73% higher than the number you think it's like.

Yea, again, you're probably the only one who took an example of a process as an actual prediction. Keep letting me know I was right here please and thank you.

For someone who likes to dissect every word so you can come up with some stupid argument, you sure do take a lot of liberties with what you say. Re: Free Agency Frenzy Thread
Atlanta sports radio is convinced Watson has selected Atlanta.
They said he met with the Falcons in Atlanta. Took a tour of their facility, ate dinner with them, then followed them on Instagram and Twitter while he made Cleveland, Carolina, and NO come to Houston and had relatively short meetings with them...and didn't follow any of them afterward (crazy that following someone is really a "thing").
I get he's from there and maybe that's why they got special treatment, but the Falcons are by far the worst potential option. Especially if the rumors are true that the Texans don't want any players in the deal, only picks. The Saints and Browns are way better...Panthers are a little better.

I mean, he's had a relationship with the Blank family since he was a kid volunteering as a ball boy for the Falcons so this goes a little deeper than football, IMO.
He probably sees a return to his home state as the best option when it comes to rehabbing his image and not facing a ton of blowback from the local community over his recent... indiscretions.

To be able to get Watson (or anyone else), the Saints have gone from being almost 60 million over the cap to 30 million under the cap.

Definitely wouldn't be the worst idea. He's just 26, so he has plenty of time to withstand tough years and a "retooling". Might as well do so in a city you know, especially for the reasons you listed here. The Outsider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 9:42 amKing Bootz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 9:40 am

That is amazing. I read an article yesterday that said they were still $1 million over. What did they do that I missed?uscbucsfan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 9:45 am To be able to get Watson (or anyone else), the Saints have gone from being almost 60 million over the cap to 30 million under the cap.
