Bucs vs Jets discussion
Bucs are 6.5-point favorites against the Jets
It seems like the Jets are preparing Taylor to start if Fields couldn’t play next week.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
At this point I don't think the QB the Jets trot out is going to make as much of an impact as who is healthy on the Buccaneers side of the equation. The team was banged up going in and came out more banged up. I don't want the Buccaneers to rush anyone back. I think they rushed Luke back and that came back and bit the team (though we have to see what happens). With a short week there is less time for the injured to get healthy.
Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
Indeed. Much rather will the dice again with Heck to better Luke for Philly and Seattle.
I honestly was expecting a much more bumpy start ending in LS. Winning these ugly games is a huge turning point for us.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
Can’t sleep on the Jets here. They have a talented DL/Passrush group and hopefully our makeshift OL can hold it down. If we can do that and actually have some Passrush of our own, we should come out on top.
Also worth noting another tough matchup for Evans with Sauce on deck. Hopefully Egbuka, Shep and our backs continue to come in clutch.

How long is McMillian out?
Edit: nvm , I looked it up. Wow, he’s not expected to be back before week 9. bye, crazy!

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
Mannnnnnnn, I wanted to face Fields sooooo bad. If you thought I was a Baker hater, go back and read my Fields hate. If Fields was the starter, we'd win handily.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
There's practically no way they start Fields. He was the 4th best passer in the game last week - and Trubiskey only completed one pass. Trubiskey still had more yards passing in one play than Fields did in 3 quarters.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
Yes this is a game when E2, Shep and our pass catching RBs need to step up. Maybe even Tez working on their CB3/4. Beyond that we need a 130+ yards rushing to keep their pass rush home. This should be a heavy Bucky/Chaad game.Kona wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 8:34 am Can’t sleep on the Jets here. They have a talented DL/Passrush group and hopefully our makeshift OL can hold it down. Defensively we need takeaways. Thus far the defense has held opponents to 20 points or less, but that won’t last. We need takeaways this game. Give Baker more shots at this and he will bury the Jets.
Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
Most obvious let down spot since last years Denver game after the win in Detroit.
To any gamblers, Jets +6.5 or better than 2.5:1 odds on the moneyline seems like great bets to me. Hopefully my analysis is shit, I’ll be very impressed if they win this game.

Agreed. This team historically fails the games when favorites. Let’s see if that’s still the caseBackside wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 10:19 am Most obvious let down spot since last years Denver game after the win in Detroit.

I don't think Wirfs will be back for this one, but what's the play if Goedeke is also out for a bit and Wirfs is back?
Heck is a liability.
Do we bring Wirfs back at RT? Move Barton to RT? I don't believe he has ever played there. He's holding his own at LT though.

We discussed this during the offseason, but not much since. This could quietly be the best signing of the season. I don’t think it’s debatable that clock management is worlds better now.

That last drive was night and day compared to clock management last year. I was really impressed.

I would love to see how the communication between the two works during the game. Credit to Bowles for allowing another voice in those critical moments. Kancey tore his pec according to Shefty so he will be done for the year, guy is made of glass! I say with the bengals season in the tubes we should get on the horn for Hendrickson.

That sucks for this team. We need a trade or someone or the room to step up (unlikely). Really sucks to see him go down like this.ImYourHuckleBerry831 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 12:39 pm Kancey tore his pec according to Shefty so he will be done for the year, guy is made of glass! Last year there would have been a timeout taken with :30 left after Mike's catch.

Definitely worth discussing for this week if Luke Goedeke is out. Bakers time to throw plummeted after Luke left.

Credit to Bowles for listening to the man upstairs. We all could learn a thing or two about that.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 12:52 pmFinally.Primeminister wrote: ↑Tue Sep 16, 2025 12:22 pm We discussed this during the offseason, but not much since. I believe we've been 2-0 five years in a row and lost that 3rd game in all of them. Time to break another tradition.

Under Bowles we've never lost a week one or week two game, but have never won a week 3 game.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
We know what happened with the injuries now I'm wondering how long they wait to respond to it.
Kancey is done for the year and Luke's time out could be way longer than you'd think, he may have hurt foot all year long. Also getting tired of Mike could have trouble, team Bowles could of been having those discussions behind closed doors for years now. Mike needs to eliminate the bad things in his game, he, they, and we all know this.
Mike give us a game like Puka can give.

Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
The Jets are an odd team. I guess you could kind of say the same about the Bucs. But the Jets I cannot put my finger on. Why is a team with this much talent and that doesn't really shoot themselves in the foot much 0-2? They gave up a bunch of points to the Steelers and Bills. But looking at those games, they actually played some great defense. They've committed the same number of penalties thus far as we have. The biggest problem for them right now is QB play. But it's not as if they've leaned on Fields or Taylor much yet.

2 teams have no takeaways or giveaways - the Bucs and the Redskins.
Re: Bucs vs Jets discussion
What boatloads of talent does NYJ have? They have a couple nice pieces, but other than that, it is a below average roster and, I'll spare you from the Justin Fields is ass discussion I've had with you for years now.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 8:58 am The Jets are an odd team. That's pretty much every talented roster. You're not gonna find more than a handful of talented players. The Jets have:acmillis wrote: ↑Wed Sep 17, 2025 10:21 amWhat boatloads of talent does NYJ have? Garrett Wilson
Sauce Gardner
Quinnen Williams
Breece Hall
Tony Adams
Jermaine Johnson
Olu Fashanu
Will McDonald
Now if you want to use the Bucs scale, we can go further. That scale is basically any player on the Bucs that Bucs fans see make a few plays they automatically label them as talented cornerstones. Jets have some of those as well. But that core is very solid and they have all been productive players.
