And yet, it still came down to the two-minute drill for Clemson, driving toward the end zone and if they scored, it was overtime with momentum restored. Both sides played hard.

Re: NCAA football 2025
I’ve been raving about Underwoid kid because I’m a homer, etc. His throw is good and accurate. He can run,, most importantly, and he can block!
I don’t know if this kid has the potential to become a heisman worthy player.
But he’s not JJ McCarthy

Oh, I’m not sure if I take Sherrone Moore seriously as a coach, but he did manage to defeat both Ohio State and Alabama twice. I don’t think any coach has ever done that.
Re: NCAA football 2025
Speaking of giving up at the end, Brian Kelly is an idiot. He's been ripped the past few years for his opening game ability to have a game won, then snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. And hot damn if he didn't try to do it again. When Clemson was forced to punt the ball away with about 3 minutes left, he decided to abandon what had been working for the entire second half by going all conservative trying to run the clock. Anyone with 3-4 brain cells knew he couldn't do it absent at least one first down, so I was like.... "thank you, coach." The expected happened, so he handed Clemson another shot to tie the game.
Hmmmm... so NOW what should Kelly do, since Clemson hasn't moved the ball for crap throughout that same second half? I know! He should totally change the defense! That's it! Dial back the pressure, give Klubnik at least a couple of seconds to throw, and.... looky there. The expected happens, again, and Clemson marches down the field - to the point where the announcers were noting they had better not score too fast and leave LSU time to respond. I was again like.... "thank you, coach."
Kelly's players bailed out him out, but once again, that was horribad end-of-game management.

Re: NCAA football 2025
I can't disagree. Coach Kelly blew it in the first half, too, with a timeout and two minutes to drive half a field he had every pass inbound and ran out of time. The players won the game in the end despite the coach.Kress wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 9:59 amSpeaking of giving up at the end, Brian Kelly is an idiot. As it should
Rece Davis confirms the headgear tradition on College GameDay will end with Lee Corso. They won't have anyone else on set attempt it moving forward.

The way they would turn off most of the lights and use halftime-type spotlights to try to disorient LSU after a timeout, the way their band played at the same time as LSU's when the first down tune was played to be a competing sound, not classy "Death Valley".
Those observations strike me as odd.
The light thing was "during" timeouts, not after, and ever since stadiums gained the ability to do that with their lights (remember those old lights that took like 5 minutes to "warm up" once they'd been shut off?), I see it all over the place. It's hyping up the crowd during a timeout break in play, not an attempt at disorientation; once timed pre-snap play resumes, obviously the lights are all normal. I imagine it seems one-sided because, obviously, you're not trying to hype up the crowd while you're on offense. It's only going to happen the other way.
As for the band: Clemson's plays all the effing time, home or away. I'm not saying I'm a fan of it, but that's just what they do. They play something between every snap, no matter what; some teams are like that. Have you ever been to an FSU game? THOSE people are incessant, and it stands out because it's the same "tune," over, and over, and over, and over, and over.
Re: NCAA football 2025
I think we can all agree the most annoying band is USC’s right?

Also your defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes will probably be #1 this week

Re: NCAA football 2025
If they couldn’t do it, I suppose Michigan would have to do it. again and AGAIN

Re: NCAA football 2025
In fact I've never been to an FSU game and I haven't been to any college game for many years. Maybe they do the same thing in the other Death Valley. I found it curious, that's all. I'll defer to you on this one, Kress.Kress wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 11:17 amXandtar wrote: ↑Sun Aug 31, 2025 9:22 am I'll say this, too, Clemson wasn't the most respectful host. Re: NCAA football 2025
Texas was overrated. Never should have been #1. I feel sorry for Arch Manning. They picked him because of his name. I believe the Manning talent has missed a generation.

I'm sorry, didn't Michigan cheat? Now they have the NCAA coming down on them?

Re: NCAA football 2025
Oh for best of all time, the vacated-title 2004 Trojans made both lists, so a dubious-at-best NCAA investigation on Michigan doesn't subtract on what they did in going 15-0. And y'all know that I am no fan of Michigan, despite having grown up there.

Re: NCAA football 2025
What about this is dubious? Suspect?
I read it all and it is rather conclusive

What I hate about the coaches that were behind both of those, they leave college and go to the pro's. Pete Carrol and Jim Harbaugh.

Re: NCAA football 2025
everything is fine and dandy..
Ohio State couldn’t even beat Michigan with a terrible quarterback in the century LAST YEAR! Google Davis Warren. Can you explain that @Betsy That was embarrassing. This year, we have a better quarterback, and we’ll win five straight.
It’s funny that Snake can’t defend his team because he knows it. Well, he got suspended that time for being racist on another thread. (TWICE) during the Michigan and Ohio State game in 2 years a row
Who knew he actually planned on it?

Re: NCAA football 2025
And we went on and beat Alabama again in the bowl game the same calendar year that no team has ever done before.
Re: NCAA football 2025
Am I racial? Yes!
Are the Wolverines proven cheaters, including their championship season? Yes!

Re: NCAA football 2025
The cheater weren’t there last year, and your team still lost Dayummm. Without Jim Harbaugh, Connor Stallions, JJ McCarthy, ect etc... embarassing as fuck
Keep trying, Snake. It’s even funnier.

I’m not sure we win the title if we would’ve won that game easily.

Re: NCAA football 2025
I agree I would not have had them number one. Not without a proven quarterback.
I would’ve had Penn State at preseason number one
