Schefter saying a front line player also coming back.
Kenny Clark
LMAO! Jerry got his ass handed to him here.
Kenny Clark is good and all, but he's in year 10 and on the downside of his career. When I saw front line player I expected someone like Xavier McKinney or Rashan Gary.
So, on our end, Vita and two 1sts plus that contract. No. I would not have done that.
Agree. I don't know what the Packs cap situation is but if we take him it kinda screws ours unless you want to give up a Vita or Godwin.
It's a matter of taste I guess. Maybe you do it if you had locker room issues but we don't. Maybe you do it if you rather have Parsons over one of our other stars like I mentioned above.

Vita Vea is quite literally the only player on this team that can play his role. For us, we dont have any other athletic NTs with his size and abilities.
Kenny Clark is decent, but the Packers literally drafted Devonte Wyatt 2 or 3 years ago 1st round. They just haven't been able to get him on the field, but when they have he's done extremely well.
And it seems you guys who are apprehensive about this deal are forgetting the most important piece: MICAH PARSONS. He's a game changer and will more than make up for the loss of Clark and some 1st round picks.

We’ll check back in ~3 years.
That is a HAUL for a non-QB.
Maybe if it was offseason it would only be 2 first but Cowboys need a roster player and Pack need to subtract a roster spot.
Dallas rejected their trade offer yesterday, may want to catch up. For the record it was 2 firsts, a second and a fourth round pick.
I’m aware of that, but they believe the Packers and Cowboys will make a trade soon.
Stay tuned
I fucking told you

If this had been done earlier it wouldve been more. Jerry was in desperation mode now because people are finally calling out his clear CBA violation regarding contract negotiations.
Fuck Jerry Jones. The way he handled these negotiations was backroom bullshit. I’m glad Micah didn’t budge and received all the money.
I agree with @Bootz that the growing talk around Jerry violating the CBA likely played into this. I wonder if the other owners had any say here because of that.

Vita is amazing, but he is not 26yo Micah Parsons. Godwin is injured. I make that trade with either of them included

The trade happening in and of itself is obviously crazy, but what outshines it is how easily avoidable this whole situation was for Jerry and the Cowboys.
This is a franchise changing unforced error for the Cowboys and a couple of late 1st round picks won't do much to change it.
We're paying the price for a half-measure taken by The Union 160 years ago.
Idk. Parsons seems like kinda a bad locker room guy. He’s way better than Gerald but it’s like that. Your identity often comes from your best players. I don’t see GB winning a Super Bowl with parsons
Damn. Would've been nice if Light had managed to steal Parsons. GB just leapfrogged a bunch of teams to the top of the list of SB hopefuls. And what timing; Parsons should be 100% ready to play by the time GB faces DAL Week 4. that'll probably be a humiliating L for DALto swallow in a little over a month.

They’re capital. You can use them to trade for other players. Move up. Etc.
Having THREE players being the highest paid at their positions is not a sustainable way to build a TEAM.
This was a smart move for them. People are all up in their emotions because it’s Jones and the Cowboys.
Maybe it was avoidable? Maybe not? I’m not sure I pay an edge rusher +QB money either. All the teams paying huge money to edge rushers suck ass and have for years because they can’t get QB right.
In Bucs terms, I would've done the 2 1sts, thrown in Kancey and Yaya. Parsons is an upgrade from Yaya. Elijah Roberts, congrats kiddo, you're starting now.

GB thinks they have QB right. I don’t.
If Green Bay doesn't have a QB, then I'd be interested in knowing what teams you think do have a QB. All Love has done since he took over as starter 2 seasons ago is post back to back winning records, made the playoffs twice, and won a playoff game. You know who else did that since they became starter 2 seasons ago? Baker Mayfield.

If they win a championship in the next two years it will have been worth it.

Yikes.
They’d certainly have taken it.
And they aren't bad players at all. But because they're Bucs, they are pretty overrated around here. Neither is a real difference maker. They are solid starters who are far from irreplaceable.

If we offered 2 1sts, Yaya and Dean I bet they would’ve taken that. Heck throw in a 4th rounder to sweeten the deal.

I think Dallas ultimately wins the deal.
Wins the deal how?? They just lost their only irreplaceable piece on defense. Clark is gonna come close to filling that void.

I probably would’ve done this, but could stomach it better if you swapped one 1RP for a 2RP.
Yaya is solid. He’s definitely a 10 year player. But you said it best, he was a largely finished product coming out.
Kancey doesn’t even move the needle for me. So he can go.
Player value exists on a steep curve. it’s the same across all pro sports. Factors like salary and team control bend that value, sometimes hugely, but the general truth is such. Replacing an above average player is far easier than replacing a HOF level difference maker.
Micah Parsons is an A+/S-tier player. Yaya is more of a B/B+, Kancey sits around C-/C, and draft picks are just as likely to flame out in three years as they are to become a B+. When you frame it like that, the trades don’t look as lopsided as they might first appear.
