If you're -$6m in the hole when you acquired said player, it would have to be before the new league year began. Teams have to operate in the black during the league year. So that deal would never be approved to begin with.

I think you either have to include someone with a similar cap hit in the deal (Dean) or restructure/extend someone else (Evans) to reduce their hit.
Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
I can’t think of anyone. Revis? Certain mot Vernon Hargreaves. It’s been a while.

Finally, somebody besides yours truly putting respect on a Talib’s name.
But if we’re being honest, CD3 was damn good at times.
There’s only a handful of true shut down corners in the league at a given time. Maybe fewer than that even.

Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Fewer shutdown corners than game wrecking pass rushers for sure. It’s so incredibly hard to cut the field in half and very few guys do that. Today, off the top of my head, Pat Surtain, Sauce Garnder, MAYBE Derek Stingly if he can build on his sophomore year. That's it.

Close the book on AR. I think literally everyone saw this coming except the Colts. He should have been a 5th round pick.

Another year, another team taking a QB way too high based on physical tools.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 11:05 am Close the book on AR. I think literally everyone saw this coming except the Colts. He should have been a 5th round pick.

This one might the worst over projection I can recall. Shane Steichen banked on his own ego to be able to morph Richardson into another Jalen Hurts. He quickly found out that Nick Sirianni was the real brains behind that operation.Four Verticals wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 1:44 pmThis one might the worst over projection I can recall. That was one thought from when Richardson was drafted. The difference being that Hurts was multiple levels of better in college to begin with.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:28 pmShane Steichen banked on his own ego to be able to morph Richardson into another Jalen Hurts. Re: The Official 2025 Off-Season Thread
Hurts had a college career completion % of 65.2%. His last two seasons were 72.9% and 69.7% respectively. He progressed exponentially throughout his college career.
AR was 53.8% at Florida his only year starting. Such an idiotic pick to think that would progress in the NFL.
They're not even comparable. And Hurts had hella problems as a passer until 2022.

Stupidity is exhausting. And then people get bothered when I call it out. This wasn't a secret at all.

Plenty of other articles as well. But Hurts is why the Colts took Richardson. They wanted to do similar things schematically with Richardson. Not that he was a Jalen Hurts clone. He obviously wasn't. Yall should really follow football outside of the Bucs.

Oh. I agree that was the plan. It was just a stupid plan with a player not capable of replicating Hurts' success.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:59 pm![]()

Either that or turning him into Josh Allen.

No, not yours. Your post makes sense as to why it was a stupid plan to begin with. Richardson was never even a decent football player.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 4:00 pmOh. Wonder if he got shipped to McVay if even he could fix Richardson.

YaYa would probably be part of the trade. One of our RBs to back up Chase. And a first. If he could pull it off for Hall instead would be a miracle.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 2:33 pm Hendrickson would be a DE in this defense.
Diaby and Reddick are OLBs.
The real magic is if Jason can get him under contract in a smart way. Zyon would be gone as a FA for sure. Maybe Luke too.

Their asking price isn’t reasonable anyway.
They’ll be lucky to get a 2nd+ at this point for an over 30 player wanting $60M+ guaranteed.
Bengals don’t want to pay him but want other teams to give up major assets AND pay him?
They’re not a serious organization.

Many finders including Adam Schefter, believe that the Packers will trade for Micah Parsons They have trade package ready.

Dallas rejected their trade offer yesterday, may want to catch up. For the record it was 2 firsts, a second and a fourth round pick.

I’m aware of that, but they believe the Packers and Cowboys will make a trade soon.
Stay tuned
