Vaughn needs to step it up a lot if he wants to stay employed
Today he has. 55 yard TD, making things out of nothing. I mean, dont get me wrong, he's still in the doghouse, but things are looking up for him.
Sneak is having a decent game. First one of the season, but still…

Still, decent run from not much.

I think that 55 yard score certainly helped.

I think he'll be fine. People forget that backs need to get reps to improve their vision and increase their confidence. Give him more touches to close out the final few games on the schedule and I think he'll be fine. Not the bellcow we want more than likely, but I think he'll be a welcome contributor moving forward, with a big chance to be our most-improved player entering his year 3.

I was thinking that. One run, probably up the gut, then QB sneak if needed.

Probably sore AF. First time practicing and playing in like half the season...and he's getting the workload of both Evans and Godwin

Still a 2 score game!?? Grrr.....

Would love to hear explanation for going for 2 points in the 1H?

Might not be a factor in this game but it could be down the road. Terrible call.

They beat the Jameis Winston led Saints 26-7 believe it or not.

But the other two were the Jets and Titans.

It's a long season.

The play around him has been terrible the last several weeks, particularly the last two.

Mental errors, dropped passes, poor routes, guys losing 1v1 matchups, play-calls scheming no one open, protection errors or losses, Godwin going down for the year.

And probably worse of all is that Gronk is making both physical and mental errors.

I don't know what is going on with Gronk these last 1.5 weeks, but I've not seen a worse stretch of football from him. He just screwed up a formation forcing a timeout and dropped another TD pass. If his play these last 1.5 weeks was from OJ Howard, this fanbase would be losing their collective minds.

Yep I just don’t want to see him take one step forward and two steps back. But @Cheb has a salient point about him needing reps and playing time to get into a groove so I am going to stay with that optimism until proven wrong.

Figured Jets were in the mix. Texans makes sense. Saints was probably their only decent win in that stretch.

The one possible bright spot of Lenny being out for 3 games. Once we have the playoff spot locked in I would give Vaughn 12-15 carries per game. He has shown the speed we saw in college. Give him a chance to build that confidence and the vision behind this line.

We may need him come playoff time so get him ready.

Gronk is scared of contact at this point. He was more interested in having his hands free to brace himself than pulling the pass in for a TD.

That's big though, should be a 3 score game now.

Might not matter today but against Rodgers or Mahomes it could.

Just a dumb call for no reason.

I really like the way you are thinking about this.
I have coached many players just like Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who you can see the flashes in practice and limited game touches, but they shoot themselves in the foot on occasion because they are trying to force plays and be all-stars. Just gotta settle them down, get them their reps, and put them into positions to succeed.

I have confidence he'll come around. He already is heading that direction.
