Colts have yet to see the animal that's heading their way.

We need to respect the beast that's heading OUR way - Jonathan Taylor.

We all got a big head about our run D after last year and the way we started this season. In our first five games, we gave up an average of 46 rushing yards per game. Over the last 5, we're giving up 111. Taylor is easily the best back we've faced this season (in terms of the level he's currently playing at.) Right now, he's got a pretty good shot at league MVP.

We're going to have to commit to stopping him. So we'd better hope our corners can erase their wideouts in single coverage.

The good news, on the other side of the ball, is that their corners are trash. I feel confident we can win a shootout. But if we have a couple of turnovers, the Colts can do exactly what the WFT did - play keepaway, grind the clock down, etc.

If we target him 13 times like the Ravens did Andrews in that game, possibly. But we're not going to do that. I don't really want anyone targeted 13 times in a game in this offense, and I'd really like us to manage Gronk's snaps. He played 46 snaps against the Giants (59% of our total) and saw 8 balls. Besides the lack of RZ targets in that game, that seems about right to me going forward. At least until the playoffs. Every snap is a chance for his back to spasm. Every hit he takes going for a pass is a potential aggravation of his ribs.

A note - the most snaps Gronk took in a game in 2020 was 65, against the Panthers, when we ran like 90 plays. Most games last year, he was in the 50s. He was between 54-59 all four playoff games. A year older, with the back acting up and the ribs, I'd like to see him stay in the mid-high 40s. We have OJ Howard this year also, so that lessens the pressure to play a bit, especially since Howard is a pretty good blocker.

Is Nelson out? That would be helpful.

I’ve watched the Colts from a distance all season. They are a team with a strong identity and play strong all game long. The way to beat them is put pressure on Wentz, as he makes stupid decisions. Vea being back would be clutch for this one, but if he’s not fully healthy… and our weak ass schedule… I’d rather sit him.

He's day to day but I would expect him to be out there. Him vs Vita will be fun to watch, even if both of them have lower limb injuries.

This. Teams aren't afraid to run on us anymore and why should they be? Even the Giants got some nice chunks that you simply were not seeing last year and early this year. And Taylor, as good as he is at running the ball, is an absolute beast at finishing runs. You hit him at the 20, he's not stopping until he's at the 15. We are a poor tackling defense, so we'll have to get bodies around him to stop him.

I'm hoping Vita Vea comes back this week. It will be a huge huge factor in being able to contain Jonathan Taylor.

Vita will be back and so will Nelson.

Just gotta stop the run first as always but colts definitely have some weapons and good coaching .

Our offense is so good and now will get Scotty Miller back.

Taylor is the type of power back who scares me. Just as it was in the good old days, it seems like our defense is better at matching speed - containing guys like Zeke and Kamara. But a power back? Forget about him outright breaking tackles, it just seems like a power runner/yards-after-contact guy is bad news for this group.

That makes Vea huge. Well, a lot of things make him huge, but I mean figuratively speaking. We need him to eat up blockers and allow the guys behind him to gang tackle. If David, White, & Co. are making solo tackles all game long, it's going to be a frustratingly long day. The type of day where you watch plays go for 6, 8, 5, 7, 6, 4, 9, 5..... Then they toss one over your head for 25, then it's back to 7, 3, 6.....

ATrain wrote: Wed Nov 24, 2021 9:25 am Since we have the worst coaching staff in the league, and the colts are at home, we're at a massive disadvantage before we ever step on the field.

So, can Brady and the offense brute force whatever random Madden plays Leftwich gets from his mobile Madden game? At home we can brute force quite easily but during away games it's just been a complete failure.

Unless we break every trend from 2021, we will be lucky to score over 20 points against the Colts which then leaves the defense trying to win us the game

Yikes all around.
Your schtick has grown old. Here's an idea. How about you go troll some other Buc boards? We're onto you here and just laugh at your pathetic trolling attempts.

Here's hoping you go the way of so many other trolls...like GottaJabbo and Sanka.

The game plan this week is clear and obvious: STOP JOHNATHAN TAYLOR.

When he rushes for >100 Colts are 6-0
When he rushes for <100 Colts are 0-5

Remarkable that Wentz has a 18-3 TD/INT ratio.

That Bills-Colts game was weird. Bills were down 17-7 getting the ball back with over 2 min left in 1st half when their KO returner got caught by the turf monster and gifted the Colts a TD to blow the game open.

Colts secondary is playing better than the disaster they were earlier, but the Bucs should have the advantage there.

On defense I think we have to play more m2m so we can better support the run. The risk is leaving Pittman or TY 1v1 on the outside.

Bowles will load up vs the run. Make Wentz beat you throwing downfield outside the numbers.

Colts defense is typical 4 man front with alot of zone shell, Quarters and 3deep. They let those two off ball LBs take care of the middle of the field. They pressure on some 3rd downs like any team. But usually just 4man rush on 1st and 2nd.

Contain Taylor and don't turn it over. The rest should take care of itself.

Apparently Devin White suffered a quad injury Monday night and didn't practice today. Mike Evans also didn't practice due to a back issue.

That is a VERY powerful stat, thanks! If we can pressure Wentz, he very well could turn in to bad Wentz. Lots of ILB blitzes me thinks

Here is another powerful stat, starring Carson Wentz.

When he has 34 or fewer pass attempts Colts are 6-1

When he has >34 pass attempts Colts are 0-4

He quite literally is their worst enemy.

They know their identity. We do too. The more Wentz we see the better it is for us.

Stop the run and make Wentz beat you.... If he does, you tip your hat and move on to next week

That's about all you can do with them

Can't give them short fields with turnovers

Drinking….
Sit Vita and Gronk and AB….

This is not a must win…..

If Vita starts…. That JT annoying running shit gets shut down.
Or DW racks him solid….

Save us from injuries….please.

SB run remains intact.

Totally agree. I'd rather enter the playoffs at full strength health wise than win this game. Both would be welcome though.

This injury report is something to keep an eye on. Evans & Marpet haven't practiced yet. DW back in limited fashion but still limited. Vea back in limited fashion. Not liking this at this point in the week.

When you’re winning a game, do you run or pass?

More interesting would be pass attempts in the first half or how if these passes are made while ahead/behind/even
