Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
This was about as dominating a win you can have without running up the score. We're 7-3 and 2 games up in the division. Lets do this.

Exactly what we needed. A nice comfortable win.
Hope Marpet is okay but if he's not Stinnie played very well in his place.

LFG!!!
Defense got their get right game.
Offense added wrinkles and performed well.
Special shout out to JTS. He won’t show on the box score but he made the most of his snaps.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Gronk looked amazing tonight.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
We left 33 points on the field again.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
It would be a wise move to have Anthony Nelson move inside next year.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
We didn't need the 33 points, the defense stepped up. The secondary is noticeably better than a few weeks ago.

The inevitable happened.... We turned it around and won
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Indeed. Good bounce back game. We need to get back into our rhythm. We got a lot of good time in with a lot of guys. Four guys caught 6 passes. Succop made all his kicks.
We still need to get healthier. AB is a big part of this offense.

It is also not wise when we shut things off - the play off formula might mess with us.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
117 yards yards yards behind Dallas.
We climbed 8 or 9 spots in pass defense.

I'd rather discuss than argue. But I don't mind being part of the Bucs' village, so okay, stay up there on the elephant, it's even higher than a high horse. I'll go back into my straw-hatched hut.

Me too! I live in a condo, not a straw hut. But it's all good. I'm damned glad we didn't need those points. I remember how we got after GB last January for getting 6 point off of three turnovers. But then it was the difference in the highest stakes game in the season to that date, and this was, to be honest, a team that is not all that.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
That was the first time all season the pass rush reminded me of the Super Bowl effort. Ironic with our best D-Lineman out.
Brady had ridiculous time to throw most of the night.
How much of a difference SMB made will be left to the film, but having two good corners on the field at the same time seemed to change the whole complexion of the defense. Now we just have to wait for CD and we'll be cooking.
Is it me, or does it seem like Brady and Brate just don't work well together? Winston was at his best throwing to Brate, and vice versa. Doesn't seem like he and TB12 have any chemistry.
I loved how thoroughly TB12 embraced the underneath stuff with the Giants playing to stop the big play. Like Riddick said, that's the difference between a great QB and an average one. "Late in the down," a phrase I've never heard before, nobody makes smarter decisions with the football.
Gronk looked very good coming back from injury. Maybe a quarter step slower than full speed. But he's still the ultimate mismatch.
I don't know what's going to happen with Whitehead this offseason, but I want to see more of Mike Edwards on the field. At this point it's fair to say he has a nose for the ball.
Pinion is a mediocre punter, but lord knows how many big returns he's prevented with his kickoffs over the last few years.
Two WR reverses on the same drive was Big Alpha Energy from Leftwich.
How many of TB12's interceptions this year have come from the ball bouncing straight up off guys' hands? At least 3 or 4, right?
Daniel Jones is the heir apparent to Jameis. You watch him and you see the great moments and you're like, "He just needs to do this all the time!" and then he does something mind-boggling stupid a minute later. The Giants will never fix him, but he'll keep doing just enough that they won't feel comfortable dumping him. Sucks for them.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
This isn't a surprise. Keep in mind this is still Bruce Arians offense. TEs simply do not play a huge part in his system past blocking and Brate isn't a blocker. The Gronk stuff Brady included in the system is exclusively for Gronk. Brate can't run those routes or play the Y. OJ does at times but at the end of the day he's still OJ.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Fun fact: Brady has more interceptions than Daniel Jones on the year.
Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Cool, now do TDs.

They are off this year and I think it's because Brate isnt 100%. Last year his catch rate was 82.4% (career high). This year 50%.
I think it's the hip.
I think there are times where he wants to blow up on ME, but holds back because...
Ever notice how much time Mike spends in his routes not even being able to look at the QB.

I expected a slight increase with Brady and the Buc WR's this year over last, but even Godwin is down 3.4%.
ME is down 2.1%.
Kinda like Brady needs his security blankets (Gronk and AB). Lenny is up 2.4%
Maybe it's more after covid pressure.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
Brate's role has been much different this year than last year. Last year Gronk played in all 20 games and Brate, when he WAS targeted, was almost always in favorable matchups. When Gronk went down this year and Brate got some of those looks, neither Brady nor Brate looked comfortable. I think there was a hope that Brate would be able to give Brady at least SOME of the security blanket he got from Gronk, but it didn't happen at all.
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if we have a completely new TE room next year, if Gronk retires. OJ is certainly no lock to be back. Brate is a lousy blocker and he's struggled with Brady as a pass catcher. I could see us becoming more "Bruce Arians" in our attack and finding a pure blocking TE. Especially when we'd save $5 Mil moving on from Brate.

Brady has talked about Godwins hands and they are good but I thought Brates were better and for the amount of passes he gets I don't know any Buc that was a greater Redzone threat. But unusually I have seen many in his hands catchable balls this year go incomplete. Even some last year.MJW wrote: ↑Tue Nov 23, 2021 5:49 am Brate's role has been much different this year than last year. The biggest disconnect I see right now is with TJ and Tom.
Also hence why I was after Nobody to provide a bigger picture of stats when doing breakdowns. One was dropped passes.
It can be anybody that will post those pay stats.

C'mon, it's just the Team Discussion version of your Joe Biden schtick. Don't act like game doesn't know game.

Re: Rapid Reactions Week 11: 30-10 Win Vs New York Giants
That' an interesting take. One thing I notice was a lot of stunts and what I would call stop and goes. Basically not a straight forward rush. It was working very well. Is it possible that's much harder to do with Vea and Suh basically plugging up the middle, nowhere to go? I've often thought they should move Vea around the line a little more. I know they do it from time to time. Whatever they did tonight they need to do more of it.
