Although, maybe Shepard's predicting his yardage total for the season.

Did we guarantee Gregory any money? How dumb.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
~$1.4mil or so. He's not untouchable. Between this and the weed lawsuit, not getting off to a good start in Tampa.

Isn't it silly how someone can fail at their job repeatedly and be a total POS but still get paid millions because they're better than the general population at a sport?
That's not chump changeThe Bucs signed Gregory this offseason to a one-year deal worth $3 million with incentives that bolster it to $5 million

Randy Gregory signed a 1 year , $3,000,000 contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including $1,365,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $3,000,000. In 2024, Gregory will earn a base salary of $1,365,000 and a roster bonus of $1,125,000, while carrying a cap hit of $2,970,000 and a dead cap value of $1,365,000.

@CannonFire if you want the Buccaneers to fail because of Mayfield, you are not a true Bucs fan. Stay loyal to this team no matter if we struggle or succeed, after all, we endured a decade without making it to the playoffs in 2020

@Phantom, when did I ever say I wanted the Bucs to fail?
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Your gaslighting not withstanding, it doesn't even seem close to what @CannonFire is doing in terms of his criticism of Baker. His concerns are valid and he stands on them, but he doesn't present them as gospel truth.

I think the Bucs could secure a Super Bowl victory with Mayfield, and you do not agree right?
Edit: Your comments about Mayfield in unrelated threads, especially the Goff discussion, Really?!
Ok i am done.

Let's be honest, if we stop being biased the WR the depth is not good. It's in the average area and that's being generous. Nearly every single team has depth WR's they drafted or have signed that are as good or better than what we do.
Depth is not your top couple of guys it's what's after that. McMillan hasn't played a snap, was rated 10th-15th type WR in this draft by most pundits. Palmer I hope can improve this year but as it stands is an average WR at best and he's up against it as a 6th rounder historically speaking. Shepard won't contribute. No one signed him for a reason as he hasn't done anything for 4 years. I'm not even going to discuss Jarrett. He has 4 catches in his career.
If we get an injury to a top guy the season is over. I don't think I'm being negative, more so realistic.
Some examples of top offenses WR #3:
Dolphins - OBJ
Cowboys - Jalen Tolbert
Eagles - Parris Campbell
Lions - Kalif Raymond
Bills have "depth" and their WR #1 is Khalil Shakir or their rookie.
None of those situations are anywhere better than ours.
Just ffs our team has such bigger fish to fry than our WR depth.
TE? Bottom 5 in the NFL.
RB? Bottom half of the NFL.
IOL? Bottom half of the NFL.
QB? Bottom half of the NFL.
Getting old hearing complaining about our WR3 of all positions.
This dude get it. Please read this again and again. Folks
Edit: If Evans and Godwin both go down with injuries, we'll be fucked.

If your #1 and 2 WR goes down who isn't fucked. That said in underwear football, Bowles pretty much ssid everyone else was behind McMillan as WR3. If you watch 2022 highlights you can see why. Canales came in and wanted to install slowly. He wanted everyone to know the whole playback IN SEASON. Coen threw everything at the players and said sink or swim. McMillan was one that reports are saying Coen and Bowles say learned the playback quickly. I am certain he will be WR3 come opening dayPhantom wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 7:39 pmSdbucs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 11, 2024 12:30 pm

He doesn't have concerns he has condemnations. His mind is made up. He just doesn't believe in the retread QB.
Does he want the Bucs to succeed? I'm sure he does. As many of his train of thought would say "succeed in the long run, which means tanking/losing today".

Glad you're done. You're passive aggressive complaining is quite childish. Just because I point out other people's inconsistencies and blind homerism, doesn't mean I want the Bucs to lose. It actually shows a greater interest in winning because I'm not blind to the facts about our teams situation and would like to see them improve.

Yeah, "buzz off". @Phantom is having a temper tantrum and doesn't need your facts getting in the way.
Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
I can even agree with this. Maybe his mind is made up on Baker, and I actually believe it is. That still isn't close to what Phantom was trying say about him actively wanting the Bucs to fail. That correlation doesn't fly. I think Logan Hall is trash. That doesn't mean I want to see us have the 32nd ranked defense in the league.Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 4:55 amHe doesn't have concerns he has condemnations. His mind is made up. Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
Completely wrong.... well, mostly wrong. I know what Mayfield is, so yeah, my mind is made up on who he is. This condemnation aspect you point out is not condemnation though, it's defending a point with evidence when the only thing brought up about Mayfield is "hope". It's also bringing up people's inconsistencies.Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 4:55 amHe doesn't have concerns he has condemnations. His mind is made up. He just doesn't believe in the retread QB.

You're wrong on the tanking/losing today part as well. We don't need to tank or lose today to get better. We (Licht), just needS to be right. I don't think he is.

Yeah, not that hard is it? I don't get some of these people where you apparently need to be 100% with every player thinking they're good in order to want the team to win.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 8:38 amI can even agree with this. Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
It's just a matter of perspective. Some Bucs' fans see Baker Mayfield throw a "game losing INT" against the Lions and say this guy just can't get it done. Others see Baker Mayfield continuing to lead his team back and answer a Lions' offense that scored TDs on 3 straight drives in the second half. The Bucs were a few plays away from the NFC Championship game with Baker Mayfield at QB. If the defense makes a few stops we have a good chance to win that game.CannonFire wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 9:18 amYeah, not that hard is it? That's what I see. We were damn close with Baker and they can build with him. He's young. He's talented.
I think the part that's hard to swallow sometimes is the constant "we have no chance with him" negative tone in your posts when we literally just had a chance with him in his first year here. You don't acknowledge that part. Does he give us a chance? Yeah, he clearly does.

Re: The OFFICIAL 2024 Bucs off-season thread
It definitely is a matter of perspective. You see last year and look at it with a pie in the sky attitude where you hope, that things will work out. I see it logically as we squeaked into the playoffs because 1, we had a soft schedule, 2, we got lucky with an easy division, and 3, we were fortunate to play a first round opponent who that quit on their coaches (whom, by they way, got fired in the off season). If you think that's the path to regular success, I'm going to need a lot more examples because I can give you a lot of examples of teams that won 10+ (11+ now with 17-game seasons), games with regular success.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2024 9:34 amIt's just a matter of perspective. Does he give us a change? No, I don't think he does. I think he's severely limited as a QB and does NOT have the ability to win us 10+ games regularly and be championship contenders. Do I think there's a chance that with a lot of things going our way (see last year), where we can step into a playoff win or 2? Sure... but I'm not banking on that, nor am I willing to agree with the team pumping $50 to $110M into a player to do that.

In order for you to have a perspective to use your theory you would have had to own the team.
