I’d much rather him somewhere else in the division than on the Bucs.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:18 pm Chase Young is going to visit with the Saints and Panthers. I was hoping we might get a look at him for a reasonable deal but probably in the division instead.

The Bucs got some flack for charging for day care, meanwhile the Browns can’t have one within 500 yards of their QB room.

Yeah, I used to post on Pewter Report back then. I remember saying that we should trade down because neither we ever going to see a 2nd contract from the team that drafted them. Made a bet with a few people that I never cashed in on. Not worth the effort. LOL

David back, 1yr 10mil
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Great to have LVD back. I hope he never puts on another uniform.
Wonder how many void years.

Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Well deserved pay bump for him this year if memory serves what his contract was last year.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
He made $7.2m in 2023 1 yr contract.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Licht really killed it with our FA’s. Now draft their successors, edge rush and long term deal with LVD. We also need a WR 3.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
What a great man.Patrick Mahomes will be restructuring his contract to create an additional $21.6 million worth of salary-cap space for the Chiefs as they aim to become the first NFL team to three-peat, per league sources.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
That's kind of an annual necessity for the Chiefs. His cap number in 2024 was scheduled to be $58mil+.

Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Maybe we'll sign some notable players from -June 1 cut designation. Alvin Kamara is one of them.
Alvin Kamara
Alvin Kamara
New Orleans Saints · RB
It's wild to say that 1,100 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns was a vast underperformance, but the Kamara that New Orleans extended on a $75 million contract back in 2020 was putting up seasons of around 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns. His 2023 yardage total was actually a career low, and he hasn't hit double-digit TDs since that 2020 campaign. The Saints would ostensibly have to cut their star running back with a post-June 1 designation, when the move would open up $11.7 million in cap space (despite $7.1M in dead money), but it may be necessary for a team projected to be a league-high $84 million over the cap and an RB carrying the league's highest cap hit at the position.

LVD will be back another year in a Bucs uniform!
Love how Licht can get the best Bucs re-signed when they are very good/great players.
LVD will probably be the most important signing of the offseason on defense for his leadership and stellar play.

So, the QB room in Cleveland will have Deshaun Watson and JW.
Good luck with those two together.
Good luck with those two together.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
I don't think people realize just how incredible it is to have a true single franchise HoF player in the modern day, let alone two.
Bad franchises don't get that kind of loyalty.

Maybe the brough WInston in to give Watson some cover. They can leak stories about stolen crab legs so people don't worry about happy endings.CantonJester wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 4:48 pm Jameis Winston signing with Cleveland to backup Deshaun Watson is, while hilarious, cause for concern for the women in the greater Cleveland metro area.

He didn't play great at all last year. And he missed games. He earned a 58 pff grade, which is a bit better than a replacement level player.
I'm good with the deal.
We shall see.

Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
So, to sum up that list of bloated cap hits:
1: Bad Person, Bad QB
2: Good person, Mid as fuck QB
3: Midget, can only play street ball
4: Old, immobile, and lucked out with the Rams.
5: An embarrassment to the position.
6: Old
7: Andy Reid's most recent QB that has succeeded in his QB agnostic system
8: Overhyped, not as good as his brother, injury prone.
9: Old, short, and a locker room cancer for one reason or another.
10: AFC Mike Evans, but not as good
11: Old, but still a top 3 DT in the league
12: Mike Evans at home but also much more expensive and is always injured.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
That’s quite a summary
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
It blows my mind that Aaron Donald is considered old now.
Im not arguing against it but its crazy how fast time goes by.

Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Hunter Renfrow expected to be cut. Would be a nice addition to the team. He was criminally underutilized at LA ever since The Clown took over the reigns.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Great resigning. Our defense has sorely missed his presence.
Two years, 10-ish million dollars? Worth every penny.
Re: ***Official Free Agency Thread***
Excellent signing! He's still very young and should remember the system. He had a great year in NY so here's to hoping he's even better than he was here.
