Deflection? How? Jerry Jones is not the other 31 owners dude. He acts on impulse. If you haven’t figured that out by now, you are more clueless than I thought.

“36 wins - most in NFL history in a 3 year period without a championship game appearance.”
This is a wild stat to have. Good lord

Marty Schottenheimer got fired after a 14-2 season. People don’t care about winning in the regular season if the expectations of winning in the regular season are there and you lose in the playoffs every year.

Yep. The commentary on this game will tell you who actually watched the game vs who watched highlights and read the stat sheet.

The crowd in Detroit sounds amazing. Deafening boos for Stafford then raucous “Jared Goff” chants

Jim Harbaugh.
2011-2013 36-11-1.
You can't make this stuff up.
Granted, Harbaugh did make a SB but nothing to show for it

Yes they should go get Harbaugh without a second thought. Do that and they’ll be in the NFCCCG within 2 years and SB within 3.Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:56 pmGuess who he's tied with?Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:46 pm “36 wins - most in NFL history in a 3 year period without a championship game appearance.”

There's a reason people have had to go back decades to try and make a precedent for the present. Okay so who do you have in this Rams vs Lions game? I am pulling for the Lions to win, but the Rams are the hottest team in the NFL. I don’t want to see the Lions 1 and done after such an amazing season.

I hope the Cowgirls keep their coaching staff. I Love games like this. Is Jerry Jones been interviewed yet?
Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
I just want a close game. 3 games…3 blowouts.
A Rams win and at least we could host another playoff game, though, so go Rams.

Dallas is closer to a rebuild than they are a championship.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:58 pmYes they should go get Harbaugh without a second thought. Do that and they’ll be in the NFCCCG within 2 years and SB within 3.
That roster has a lot of upcoming FAs, aging stars, and not a lot of cap room.
Hot takes for the far future are easy to make because they can't be proven any time soon. Ergo they don't mean much.

I want the Rams to win so if the Bucs are victorious tomorrow, the Bucs host another playoff game.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:00 pm Okay so who do you have in this Rams vs Lions game? Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
I am assuming that they won’t have tomorrows winners play on 5 days rest, so assuming Bills win tomorrow, Texans-Ravens and 49ers-Packers will be Saturday.
Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
49ers will host the Packers on Saturday.

Mike Mularkey was fired after not only making the playoffs, but winning a road playoff game less than a decade ago in 2017.Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:58 pmThere's a reason people have had to go back decades to try and make a precedent for the present. He wasn't fired. He stepped down. Sat out the following season, returned to Atlanta for a year and then retired.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:05 pmMike Mularkey was fired after not only making the playoffs, but winning a road playoff game less than a decade ago in 2017.

The League has to agree with you as well. 2/3 of these games have been interesting simply because of the underdog winning in dominant fashion.

Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
I get McCarthy has had good success with the Cowboys, but successful regular seasons are almost meaningless for Jerry Jones at this point. He's a jump scare away from dying due to him being 178 years old. He needs to watch the Cowboys hoist the Lombardi NOW, not later.
By all accounts McCarthy has a hard cap on where he can take the Cowboys and it's not a Super Bowl.
Jerry doesn't have the time to wait around on McCarthy to maybe Oops his way into a super bowl.
Hiring the GOAT HC of all time is the best bet that Jones will live long enough for another trophy. 12 wins a year in the regular season simply isnt good enough for the Cowboys.

Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
True although I wouldn’t call the Texans much of an underdog. I might put a few bucks on the Texans to make SB. +900 is spicy.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:12 pmThe League has to agree with you as well. 2/3 of these games have been interesting simply because of the underdog winning in dominant fashion.

He didn’t “step down.” It was a mutual parting officially but the team even talks about wanting to make changes to take the next step after it was announced.Bootz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:07 pmHe wasn't fired. Strunk stated that "we did discuss extending [Mularkey's] future with our team over the past week, but in those discussions about the direction of the team, it became evident that we saw different paths to achieve greater success."
"I felt like we needed to go in a different direction and maximize the skill sets of the players on the field," Robinson said. "This is an attractive job ... we'll talk to candidates who we believe will move this team forward."
